Bozo, Gar, and Ray

Did anyone else see this special on channel 9? I think only us oldtimers could really appreciate the geneus of Ray Raynor. Those shows were great. They even showed Hardrock, Coco, and Joe on the special. If it comes on again you must catch it.

I was hoping to see it but that just didn't happen. When I was 6, I had a Cuddly Dudley dog that was nearly as big as I was. RIP, Ray Rayner.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

You guys are lucky. Bozo was local for you. That guy was King in this area. I don't know how many kids begged their parents to take them to see Bozo.

"For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, 'He has a demon.' The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard..."

The first turn is the worst turn, between the left ear and the right one.

When i was born my parents put in for tickets and when i tuned 8 they finally came! I was selected to throw balls at a plates and i won a "Bozo Doll"! I thought i was the coolest!! Sure get upstaged by Tony! I wanted those buckets! I knew i would of won if i only got to play!

The best was the joining the Bozo march parade!

I did not even know they had shown that piece on TV. NO DOUBT i would of recorded it. I had the 45 of Hardrock, Cocoa, & Joe. "He's Hardrock, I'm Cocoa, and he's JOE.........."

Well, I'm guessing they'll run it again next Christmas. They actually ran clips from "Hardrock, Cocoa and Joe" on the WGN Morning News last year, so it looks like they're setting up a pattern.

Ray Raynor was great! I watched him everyday. Bozo was OK, but I was never that big a fan.

I saw the one they had on saturday? (first one). I remember watching the dog. Not sure if he was on the bozo show?

I miss the "saturday movie classics" the guy sitting in the recliner with the fireplace behind him. And they would have mainly family type movies like old yeller.

I taped it. My favorite was Garfield Goose and friends. (Although Frazier Thomas was notoriously mean to kids in real life). Does anybody remember "Journey to the Beginning of Time" segments on Garfield Goose? After seeing about 8 seconds of it on the special, I found a dvd of it on the internet. It was better in my memory than seeing it now. And Diver Dan?? Christ, they had fish puppets clearly dangling on strings..... smoking cigarettes under water! Man, we'd watch anything in those days.

Good special, for those of us born in the fifties...
