Boys toys or Girls toys

What the heck was that last night on Boys toys week. Why does the History channel even remotely think a fricn' Mazda Miata is a boys toy

Maybe I'm biassed cause I'm not a convertable fan but I think they could of featured something better like '69 Buick Gs convertable, a corvette convertable, or a Olds 442 convertable. What a joke.

Here we go.

the ultimate convertable 1970 silver and black W-30 convertable. This thing has a hurst 4 speed and air which makes it really rare. Ground off resto by myself and my dad. Every last bolt put in with plastic inserts in our sockets so they didn't get scratched and the smoothest paint ever. We took 2nd place in the Oldsmobile Nationals with this car!!!!!!!

hahaha Thanks. Every saturday it's like a car show over there cause he runs a resto biz out of the garage and people bring cars by constantly for us to look at. The silver one is my uncles and our pride and joy as far as our product. He lets us take the car to shows all the time to advertise. My dad is almost finished with his now but its not a convertable, but cool non-the-less.

Brick is the coolest... but there's something oddly comforting about the sound of gravel crunching under the wheels...

Getting back on topic. Obviously you haven't drive a Miata w/ a 5sp, or the all elusive 6sp. This car has gotten a bad rap because of all the female drivers that embraced the automatic version. This car harkens back to the MGB or Triumph TR-6. It handles unbelievably, has one of the best transmissions ever made, and is rather reliable. Those of us that like to race on four wheels know that this is the car someone can race on the weekend, win, and still drive during the week. This is THE car to beat for racer who have a realistic budget. [Some might argue the Honda CRX, but that isn't made anymore for a reason] Get a barebones, 5sp miata, drop the top on a sunny day [when the bike is in the shop of course] and hit the twisties, motoring at it's purest.

I'm gonna have to agree with you on that one. Even the first-generation MX-5 (miata) was a BLAST to drive... even with a "small" 4-cylinder engine... it was so light and very well balanced that it still moved. The suspension on the miatas (I've only drive the 1st generation and a 2nd generation 5-speed) was QUITE amazing for such a bargain-priced automobile... they're just a lot of fun to drive... next to my bike I'd take a little 2-seater drop top anyway (just NOT that new piece of fucking shit MR2-spyder... don't get me STARTED on that)

Well you guys are entitled to your opinions. I can't argue on handling. BTW I have driven them and my opinion is they suck. First off I can barely get in the thing. Yeah it's a little better with the top down but I hate convertables anyway. There is just something about brute power of a vette or T/A, or a VR-4 or Supra. It just makes you wanna get out and push when you drive a Miata. So I'll leave it to the girls. They seem to have taken a liking to the car anyway
