I'm sick of weather people...

I'm fed up with all of these weather people. On TV and the internet. I use weather.com and noaa.gov on the internet and they are rarely right. For instance right now it's 61 degrees outside. They are forecasting it to be a high of 50 today. Hmm...not even close? By 9am apparently it's supposed to drop 20 degrees.

I get a better weather report sticking my head out the door.

Actually they were suprisingly dead on yesterday through all the storms and today there is a very large range depending on where you at.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

Well, all I can say is that weather is damn hard to predict sometimes. Today, for example, we are in the dead center of a deep Low pressure zone. Think of it as something similar to the eye of a hurricane. If the low moved to the north or south of us the temps would have been lower. But since it is passing us where it is a Warm Front just moved over us, hence the higher than expected temps.

Once the center of the Low passes us we'll see a sharp drop in temperatures and some really strong winds. If you look at the back end of this Low you'll see Minneapolis/St. Paul getting slammed by a winter storm. That's why there's a chance of flurries tonight.

Anyway, I feel your pain. I try to be as accurate as I can but sometimes the atmosphere just throws you a curveball.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

+1 I treat them like psychics, I will listen to them, but will only use their advice as a sort of guideline, not as fact

Just went on weatherunderground.com. Pretty cool site, thanks for the link. Alot more information than the other sites.

So I take it Chills is a weather man? I'm probably just most frustrated that they aren't forecasting riding weather

Yup, forecasting is part of my job. I've got quite a record for forecasting Strat's weather. Just ask the folks on the board.
