What video games you playing?

Okay, it's winter, no bikes

I usually kill time with the PS2 now. Just to get some posting going, what you all playing? Wondering if I'm missing a cool game.

Currently, I'm desperately trying to defeat a couple Metal Gear Rays in Metal Gear Solid 2. I'm also actually attempting to play missions in Vice City. And unlocking stuff in the Activision Anthology. Occational shooting fix in Red Faction (great multiplayer levels, not online though )

And for a bike fix, I play MotoGP 2 on simulation mode. A lot tougher when you can't leave the track!

For online compatible games, how do you hook up to the net? I'm just curious especially with ATT cable. Do I just plug it in and go like on my laptop? I assume you need to set you player up to recognize your provider.

Also....who has PS2 and who has Xbox? Yes I know PS2 has more selection but at $50 a pop I just want the newest coolest games.

I am leaning towards Xbox.

I went with the PS2 because the game selection is more towards my liking. Metal Gear Solid 2 was a must (now out for XBox), GTA series for some reason ISN'T out for XBox. It has online capabilities with a network box thing, but good luck finding one. Guess it's catching on faster than they can ship them over here. Also still need a broadband network connection, and I don't use that stuff enough to warrant it.

With the new Zelda game coming out (preorder and get 2 other Zelda games free), Metroid Prime, I'm also leaning towards getting a Gamecube, especially if they lower the price.

Right now Funcoland (or whatever it's called) is selling the old NES systems for more than N64s. I've got a shitload of NES games as well.

XBox's seem to be plug and play into a network connection. Max or Jim would be better at knowing how to do that.

Our DSL is routed through a hub to the computer at our house, so all we need to do is plug the Xbox into the hub via an ethernet cord and it's ready to go. Of course, you need to download the appropriate software (GameSpy or whatever else) in order to play the various games.

As far as like.. the best games out now, I'd put in a vote for Splinter Cell. That game is soooo fucking tight--if I don't get it for Christmas I'm gonna cry. And then I'll go out and buy it right away. So tight. System linked or even multiplayer Halo is also really fun, especially when you get like 10 people playing [so I can kick all their asses].

I have the X-box and Lupi has PS2. We both rented MK5 and it rocks. Also I rented Mech Assault. Both games I asked for for X-mass. MotoGP is sweet. Just need to hook up to the net one of these days. Max is it really that easy. And what do I need to get up n running.

Well, uh, instead of having the ethernet cable connect directly to the back of your computer, buy a hub/router if you don't have one, connect it there, set up your internet connection on the computer so it works right again with the hub/router, plug the Xbox into the hub/router with another ethernet cord, download the GameSpy software, and bam! Should work if you set it up right and your provider lets you have more than one IP connected. I'm pretty sure there's actually instructions in the Xbox manual if you still have it.

Multi Player Halo is the best, cant' beat it for the competition, and smack talk. Medal of Honor is good for one player, that's available for both Xbox, and PS2.

I'm still on Vice City. I am stuck trying to find a damn golf cart. its the last vehicle I need to complete the sunshine autos missions. but it almost seems like the game knows I need it so It is hidding it. I spent days drivin around the golf course looking for one. Its no where to be found. Anyone else gotten this far yet?

Hmm, check a gamefaq?

Have you tried using a boat to get into the country club, then ride the cart onto the boat?

Did you check all the parking garages?

Damn, I'm on the second Avary Carrington mission. I just killed that tenacious bastard landowner from the country club. He got out of the club so I had to go and chase him down with the Porsche wannabe laughing d . I passed that mission.

I've got a short attention span so a game only lasts about 2 weeks for me. I've got PS2 XBOX and pc games. Right now it's GTA Vice city. Before that it was Roller Coaster Tycoon 2.

Like Chris said, get in the golf course and steal one. I heard you can jump it over the fence at one spot in order to get it out. Or, if you do keep driving around the outside of the course, there'll be one out there eventually.

Maks, the only thing you know how to do on that game is 35 second wheelies on the Faggio!

I wish the ladies man code would work in real life

Getting out of the course with a cart is harder than it looks. No real place to jump, you can't jump over a fence.

I'll work on it this weekend if I get a chance.

Anybody know how to beat those Metal Gear Rays in MGS2? I get one into the center and he starts lobbing those heat sinking missles at me that are damn near unavoidable. Those ones that go RIGHT towards you. I've beaten 1, but there still are at least 3 more to go.

Gettin it out wont be a problem, theres a jump right next to the building. Problem is finding it. Seemd like the game knows I'm lookin for it and it wont produce. I've spent days in that damn golf course. Starting to make me hate the game being stuck on something sooo stuiped.

I actually read somewhere that this is like the hardest of the vehicles to get. They recommend snagging it any time you see it (like before you start the mission or wahtever) and storing it somewhere just so that you'll have it when you do finally get to that mission. I guess the golf carts are that rare. Have fun, Tony.
