Maybe show the dealer this video when you try to haggle the price with them. I am sure they would be able to work out a good deal after watching this vid

OH SH*T!! I thought he was done when he drove the SUV back into the dealership.

He must have had that whole thing planned. Who drives a brand new SUV around with cans of gas in the back?

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

in some states a cool off period exists... and it's like 3 days. I believe you can return the vehicle minus a fair usage amount (mileage) I am not sure if that applies to IL or not

Yeah, I'd say that was all a bit premeditated, I don't generally carry gallons of gas next to a lighter in my brand new car. All that being said, that guy's alright with me. It's about time people got pissed about the (sometimes) outrageous financing terms they receive!!

"he later says he regret doing it"

What a dumbass, do you think his insurance will cover this

Do you think he'll get a new car outta this, or possibly better financing?

I was thinking they had to have dropped his rate by at least a couple of points after that

This is what happens the day after you buy a Ford Escape...when you realize you just bought a Ford Escape

In IL the minute you leave the dealership with the car and a signed contract, your an owner. If a dealer really wanted to be a dick, you as the consumer have no recourse. I sold cars for a little over 6 years, and I have seen plenty of people get buyers remorse. The reason that you, as a consumer don't have a leg to stand on, is the fact that YOU solicited the dealer. Not the other way around.

Now, if the dealership has the car dropped off at your house and you have to sign a new contract or something, at your house, then you would have 3 days.

Oh well, I guess I am lucky then, I brought a new $38,000 car back to a dealer two days after I bought it, got my trade-in back, (all nicely cleaned and detailed for resale) and told them to go take a flying F*ck!

Long story, but THEY didnt have a leg to stand on.

What a numb nutz.

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.

Damn, that was crazy! I hated the sales staff at the dealerships where I worked at, but that's going a little too far. That was a pretty cool video though

I assume they screwed up your contract or didn't adhere to the deal you were promised in one way or another? If you just felt like you paid to much, they didn't really do anything wrong. Then you did get lucky, and you either had a cool dealer or one that just didn't want to deal with a confrontation.

Either way, the only thing that matters is that the situation was resolved to your satisfaction without you doing this...

Yeah, I work at a dealership right now, and I get a few customers with buyers remorse who think they have three days to return it...One even bought it on the idea that she had a three day test drive and then tried to return it...OOPS!!!

What the hell, a 3 day test drive. Did they think they were buying a shitty Saturn or something
