anyone get the internet crimes involved with ebay

i have a deadbeat seller and i havn't received the item. It isn't that much money either.

Ebay will not do anything because it's past their time frame.

Ebay tells me to go to internet crimes and file a report. If i do this, what is the outcome? He gets arrested but im still out $XX.XX ?

Im going to try sending him certified letter and telling him the authorities will be contacted etc... if he doesn't refund me my doe.

anyone else gone through it this far?

Yes. I ended up filing a report and then went thru my CC to get my cash back. I'm not sure what happen to the guy.

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later!!

Yes. I bought an item from a guy on another forum I belonged to and when it took him a little longer to send the item I just figured he was having problems. Well when I decided to file a report it was over the amount of days allowed so I called my CC and had the money credited back in a few days.

did paypal do anything to your account?

This guy is in new york. So i waited a bit. Then i talked to him and learned the package was returned. So he shipped it again. And because of all that; i passed both paypal and ebays dispute dates.

The "work with the seller" is bs with ebay. File dispute after 3 weeks.

thanks for da info

You guys are lucky. I filed a report, that ended up going to the FBI internet crime people, and never heard anything back. Sure it was only a couple hundred dollars, but thats money that I just threw away.

good luck on that man... regardless of how it looks, the FBI is a little back-logged in their internet crimes division. I'm guessing alot of that info is coorelated into usage patterns to weed out the big players than dealt with on an individual basis.

It's not the fall that hurts... it's the sudden stop at the end...

Yeah that was about three years ago. If something ever happens and I get my money back... well I am sure I can buy something for the bike.

The ONLY thing PayPal did was send me a message stating I should of went thru them even though I did and they told me it was to late also.

If you used a CC call them and let them know everything and most likely they will get you your money under their Fraud Coverage.

PayPal's fraud investigation. They are so incredibly slow and ineffectual. I bought a jacket off eBay a few months ago and it turned out to be a counterfeit from China. I went through PayPal and they said the dispute would be settled in a month. I then called my credit card to cover my ass and they suggested I dispute the charge through them, so I did.

8 weeks later I get an e-mail from PayPal saying I shouldn't have gone through my credit card and they were dropping the case. I wanted to write them back and tell them to kiss my hairy white ass. 8 freakin weeks.

The cc company is still investigating but at least I have my money back.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

I bleed GREEN
