PS2 - Just what the Dr. ordered!

In a effort ot fight the winter riding blues. I borke down and picked up a PS2. Got 2 games. RS (Riding Spirits) and WRC (World Rally Championship) I couldn't find MotoGP2. I'll have to wait for 3 in March.

After playing each for 30 minutes I can say this about each.

RS:
The controls suck!!! THe controls are not intuitive and difficult ot modulate (No digital) and there is only 1 screen view and it sucks. The sound effects blow and graphics are sub par and you you don;t have enouhg depth of field to ride properly. The only redeeming factor is that almost every '02 model is in the database.

Now if you like a challenge of complex controls, you might like this. I'm a novice at game systems, so it doesn;t work for me.

WRC:

Kicks ass. Easy to drive the car, difficult to master... but fun as all hell. Good realistic sound effects. I even like the co-driver telling me what's comming. Too bad the co-driver doesn't speak his native language. That would be cool.

What other games are fun for someone that sucks at games like me. Could I do so game borrowing or swapping???

I like Grand Theft Auto 3 and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
both are real easy to play and good for relieving stress hehe

SOCOM: Navy Seals and Ghost Recon are awesome wargame-types. U get a free headset with SOCOM that you use to talk to your teammates and order them around. Medal of Honor is a fun game but not too realistic.

Unreal Tournament and Timesplitters are cool two-player games.. havent tried Timesplitters 2 yet.. Dont bother with Quake3 Arena.

I wouldnt suggest any of the motocross games, they all blow, and I dont play sports games.

Vice City.....

Also the Ricky Carmichael "Superfly" game is pretty damn cool You can play as Ricky/Metz/Deagan...ect and can choose from most current model dirtbikes from Honda/Yam/Kaw/Suz/Husky/KTM. Good physics/good gameplay/good graphics and soundtrack. You can do the racing season (125 or 250) or do the freestyle thang, it also has a feature where you can basically build your own stadium sized layout or just practice wheelies&stoppies on the open/flat ground. Great bike game!!!

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.

Mike,

Check Walmart discount areas and used places for MotoGP2.
I did some searching. After lots of looking and a bit of luck, I was able to get it at a local Wal-mart. I just checked on videogames.com and it looks like nobody is stocking it anymore. You may be out of luck.

I've read from multiple sources that Riding Spirits game sucked. Sorry. Try Grand Turismo 3. It's a greatest hits package and only $20. I've only got GT2 for the playstation. it's good. I like to hit Laguna Seca

Vice City is the shit though.

Hey Cherry,

RS sucks. I bought it, played it, and returned it, all within 24 hours. See below:

https://www.chicagolandsportbikes.com...&threadid=2793

I only really play driving or racing games (and I'm picky at which kinds of driving games too..) GT3 is good. MotoGP is fun - try a used place for that. I paid $14 for mine (used) at an Electronics Boutique in Denver a month ago. Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City are bad-ass. I've also got a copy of SSX (snowboarding) that's pretty cool.

Maybe I'll see if I can at least exchange RS Spirits.

On the other hand, I'm really getting inoto the WRC game. Just won the Chamionship on the novice level. Won 13 of 14 rounds Time to move up I guess.

The best venue is Italy. Nice smooth paved roads with tons of hairpins and elevation changes. One stage is even at night. It's the closest thing I've done to riding on the racetrack... with that intense focus, nailing the brake markers, hitting the turn in point and sliding that bitch sideways.
