Chicago based companies

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this. I am trying to find food retail, or food chain companies that are based here in Chicago or the chicagoland area. If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, does anyone golf I'm looking to hit the links soon but really dont know what courses are worth hitting. Kinda need a new golf buddy too.

Thanks in advance.
Jimi

here's a list of the Fortune 500 companies. You can sort by area or industry or a bunch of other things.

http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/fortune500/

also check out Chain Store Age magazine-- it's a retail standard. There's also some for grocers. Here's a list from About.com. http://retailindustry.about.com/od/p..._grocery_drug/
The one I used to read when I was working w/retailers was Supermarket News, but I had really no reason to read it over any of the others. It just was accessible at the time.

There are also a bunch of food companies. A freind of a friend is an exec with Dean's Foods-- they are all over the country. Fannie May used to be there but moved? It was in the news recently. Then there is a big kraft plant in Champaign, and one other place I can't recall. I would do a google search, or try to find trade lists through some of these magazines.

Also look into the sysco-type companies that provide bulk foodservice.

Hope that helps.
