I've seen a few of these on the road in Naperville in the past week and then some on a car carrier.

I guess Toyota is getting into the retro look fad that's going around.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

yeah I just found out today that they've been out a few weeks now. I've always liked the old ones but finding a good one is pretty hard. Atleast this one isn't some watered down boulevard cruiser that shares the rav4 platform. I like it.

looks like msrp is like 21k to 24k depending on the model. With options.. probably 28k or so... I bet the dealerships will mark it up quite a bit until they realize very few people are into land cruisers/FJs.

I too like the old FJ's. This one looks like a cross between an Xterra and an Element. Looks tuff.

Engine 4.0-liter DOHC 24-valve SFI VVT-i V6
239 hp @ 5200 rpm;
278 lb.-ft. @ 3700 rpm

Those aren't bad numbers, I dont like the fact that the 6 speed manual trans is all time 4-wheel drive.

Allright I have to see these in person. I might have to trade my car in on this if it looks as good as the pics. Hopefully it is not cheesy looking.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

My boss bought one of these last week. It's nice, I like it. Rides and drives great, looks cool. His is loaded and I think he paid somewhere around 28k. And it's a Toyota . I too want an old FJ but nice ones are way too expensive.

OK we obviously have a different definition of stinky fast.

As re: to the new FJ, I think it looks great except for the standard two tone paint. I think it would look mean without the white roof, reminds me of a bloated off-roading Mini Cooper or something.

The engine numbers and six speed gearbox are off the hook, but I hear they get shittastic gas mileage.

my last car was a civic, thus his g35 is retarded fast to me.

the 2 tone paint is part of the retro look, remember the removable hardtops on the old fj's? I really like it. I wish I didn't already have a stupid cherokee in my garage.

Well put it this way my auto is pulling times just as fast as the manual guys. My car is bone stock and going into a 30mph wind I pulled a 14.3 quarter mile. I have never owned a fast car so this is my fastest 4 wheel vehicle. Plus I did not buy it for it's speed. It's one sexy bitch like my woman
