sports medicine doctor recommendation?

Can anyone recommend a doctor who specializes in sports medicine? Previously had ACL surgery, have reinjured the knee and don't have a doctor in the area...

I know there was a thread referencing this surgery a while ago, but can anyone suggest a name or two?

I went to him recently regarding chondramalacia in both of my knees. He seemed very knowledgeable about sports medicine, and was a knee specialist. Also, as an orthopedic surgeon, there's no monkeying around. I was in and out of the office in 45 min, including x-rays.

I had a sports med. doctor when I broke my collar last year... She is down in Schaumburg, seemed to know her stuff... can't remember the name though. Give me a holler and I can look it up if you are interested...

It's not the fall that hurts... it's the sudden stop at the end...

Ok, here to help. Yep, my guy is one of the best. I had ACL reconstruction (allograph), miniscul tear, and chondromalasia all on my right knee. Operation was six weeks ago, I threw the crutches out two days later, and have had full range of motion since week 3.

The doctor is Dr. Freedberg, 630-372-1100, he has appointments at Barrington Road and Higgins Road on Thursdays. He specializes in sports, specifically athletes knees. He is EXCELLENT!

The place you would meet him at in Hoffman is very near to you. It is also where he sends people for sports rehab. It is called Advanced Physical Medicine, 2357 Hassell Road, Suite 204, Hoffman Estates. 847-839-8888.

My rehab was three days a week for about 90 minutes per session. I did the same thing at home the other 4 days a week, and was basically done with rehab after 4 weeks. Met with the doc on the 5th week, he told me I could continue rehab if I want to, but it wasn't necessary. Next visit with him is at 4 months post-op. Then he'll clear me for running and basketball. At the moment however, I am cleared by him to get back out and race and do track days.

Here is the thread when I asked tons of questions about the ACL Reconstruction of other CLSBers.

If there is anything that I can do to be of help, PM me. Good luck!

Great Quote - One would think that the Secret Service was smart enough to get serviced secretly.
