The Triumph of MI-3

http://www.mcnews.com.au/

Following the appearance of the two-wheeled heartthrob, the Speed Triple, in 2000’s incredibly successful, Mission: Impossible 2, the action-movie star and avid motorcycle fan, Tom Cruise, is rumoured to have personally requested that the iconic motorcycle marque supply another heroic machine for the latest instalment in the blockbuster series…the eagerly awaited Mission: Impossible 3, which will hit cinema screens worldwide in early May, 2006.

This retro-styled machine - a one-off, created especially for the movie – was inspired by the brand-new Triumph Scrambler, which has its roots in a bike made famous by another movie icon, Steve McQueen. McQueen was a keen motorcyclist, as is Cruise, and rode the Triumph TR6, the original Scrambler, in the infamous International Six Day Trials, behind the Iron Curtain in 1956. Unquestionably, it’s fitting that
both Cruise, the modern-day action hero, and the movie’s character, the unflappable Ethan Hunt, choose to ride a Triumph.

"For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, 'He has a demon.' The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard..."

The first turn is the worst turn, between the left ear and the right one.

Too bad the new Scrambler doesn't have a plant that lives up to the spirit of the original...i love the looks, but get that thing some power

..ps: Tom Cruise is a pud, except in Top Gun

I'll have to see if I can find the article, which I think was in Cycle World or Sport Rider, about a paralell twin that ran counter balancers and could produce as much power per cylinder as an inline four. That would be the power plant to use.

And let's face it, Cruise, while he may be a Triumph fan, is looking for freebies!

Put a good plant in that thing and you've got yourself a prospective buyer here

...and Cruise has lost his Bean...besides, he looked like a tool riding that baby in Top Gun

I don't know if it's on the websites but, I can scan the article and post it.

This article was taken from Cycle World and written by Kevin Cameron. I forgot to look at the month and year but, I can do that later. I did read something else about this engine but, I'll have to see if I can find it.

Here's a link to the company's website http://www.maxsym.com/
