That's it no more Mr. nice guy.

Leaving my subdivision, I go one block away from home and some F'nut decides to run a stop sign pulling right out in front of me.
I always do the speed limit or less in the residential areas knowing there is a school and church and little ones roaming around but the F'nut was totally unexpected.
I stopped him at the stop light and pulled up to his window and motioned him to open. He did. I was extremely polite as I chewed him out for not only blowing through the stop sign but cutting me off as well. No bad words were used, just asked him simply if he was prepared to pay the fine for the citizens arrest for blowing the stop and nearly causing an accident with a motor cycle.
He was clearly shaken with the fact that someone confronted him with his poor driving. Now, those of you that know me, know that when prompted by stupid stuff I ussually go off rather hard core. (Also, I'm not a spring chicken either.) I'm working hard not to do that and used this case as a test for my new and more sensitive self. It was quite interesting to see this older gentleman shaken from my very calm and pointed questions about his driving. He even admitted seeing me and not stopping at the sign.
In the past, this would be a rant thread for me. Today, I'm simply relating to my fellow riders to be extra carefull out there. Some of these folks just don't give a crap.
Please everyone be extra carefull and have fun.
That is all.

Yeah, Butch! Nicely done!

Alot of Spring Fever and seems many drivers are in a zone. Had a few close calls myself since it warmed up. Props to you for keeping your cool.

Do you think by leaving your subdivision you will get away from shit like that? You have to watch for assholes no matter where you go or where you ride! THEY WILL FUCKING RUN YOU OVER BUTCH!!!! They will pull out they will cut you off and they will never see you.

Ride on the Defense.

My Old Man will be gone from some Fuck Nut that ran a stop sign and killed him 5 years on April 27th. I was there and saw the whole thing.

it takes all kinds. between you, me, and the rest of the world, I would have found it totally acceptible if you knocked the shit out of him, even though thats not "right" or legally acceptable. Way to keep your cool butch, hopefully its something he won't do next time because of the approach you chose. Nicely done

Thanks. Kinda why I even posted. I'm thinking if more of us on two wheels would take the time and a polite manner pointing out to poor drivers their selfishness then, just maybe, we could gain some respect on the roadway.
It's more difficult to do from a cage than rolling up to the offending person and politely motioning them to open a window.

I like how you handled it but I try to stay out of those confrontations. I figure they will say something stupid and I'll lose my temper and break a window, or it will be the other way around and the guy in the cage will be a nutcase with a gun.

righto on the gun thing.. happened to a buddy of mine last week in Lynwood, that was being tailgated bad.. He moved over to let the a-hole cager past, and gave him a hand gesture, well they got caught at the next light when the driver started waving a handgun around inside the car, after my buddy pulled up along side..

I know of another car that was beat unmercilessly with helmets while in motion..

i have done that before. If I sense the driver is weak, I prey on them and then politely chew them out. I once said to a woman "do you have kids?" she said "yes." I said, "well, my mother doesn't want ME dead, so please, as a mother, understand that and drive more safely in the future"
