About my christmas rant (for those that saw it)

Wanna know why I post that? Christmas is very depressing to me. It brings up very bad memories that I'm trying to yet deal with. Its easier just to vent on a message board than to go off on someone in person. Theres alot in my past that no one here knows about and only had started opening up a little about it within the last year in the admin area of SBN before the shut down. And that was I was starting to see the mods there as good friends that I could trust and open up to. Theres a big difference between how I used to be back from HS into 89 and how I was after 89. Only started becoming more comfortable with talking to strangers a few years ago. Still have reservations dealing with certain issues, but changing. You can only push back emotions so long before you burst and personally I'd rather just write out my frustrations than take it out on someone verbally or physically.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

Well Rob, I kind of took it as an attempt to connect in a very vague, possibly strange sort of way. I regret that I was not more proactive in asking you what was up but frankly I have my own issues with what the holiday season is "supposed to be" as compared to how it actually is, or more importantly, how it actually feels.

The thing is that many, if not most Christians take sentiments like "fuck Christmas" very seriously. Right or wrong, it is the case. I think that was the reaction you got when what you actually wanted was for someone to give a damn enough to ask what was up.

That's kind of the way things go when you have spent many years protecting yourself from being close to people. You have to LEARN how to ask for what you want from people and remember that even when you have perfected that, you still may not get what you want from anyone but yourself.

Anyway, welcome back.

Dave

Shit, I missed the whole thing. But you are one of the bros. If you can't let off steam or vent around here you can't anywhere. So if it makes you feel anybetter

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.

Rob,

I'm sorry. I figured you were trying to vent something, but I really took offense to the phrase you used. I'm sorry Rob, I hope things are ok with you and that you got what you were looking for. It may be alot easier to get our attention than you think. Alot of us here, including myself, would be more than happy to listen without the offensive statements. Dave hit the nail on the head. The reason I took such offense was that I am a Christian. Either way Rob, I'm glad your back.

Actually I wasnt expecting anyone to respond. No one ever has before when I vented on SBN. Wasnt meant as an attack on religon, just at what xmas has become. Watched an older guy SHOVE a 8yr old out of the way to get the last toy whatever at Walamrt the night before. Kid was fine, but looked very upset. But nobody that was right there even said a word to the guy. Wish I could had got over there faster and layed into him, but with carts in the way not much you can do. Now if the kid fell, I would had probably been posting from the rock co jail sicne i would had beat his ass senseless.

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.
