Funny Penny

I just got this penny today, and was wondering if anyone here has any idea about what happened to it, or if it is worth anymore than a penny ? maybe .02?

Looks like a frisbee......may be just a defect from the mint. Is it lighter than a normal penny?

DUDE!!!! go around and see coin dealers...get as much info as you can, that might be worth a few hundreds?

the way they were doing them back them if i am correct, is a double sided punch press, other wise they would make each side seperate then punch them together,,,and fuse!

dont sell it right away , get as much info as ya can

Id say it was cut out with a lathe. see the pattern. Saw a similar one on the discovery channel last week. They were building mint mistakes.

I think someone dissolved the zinc that lies within many pennies. You can do this just by letting the penny soak in a can of coke for a while. Then maybe they filed off the back side? Or cut it?

Either way I have heard of kids science experiments where they dissolve the inside (zinc) of a penny in a can of Coke, and it leaves the copper in tact.

YTRAP,

Yea I think it was cut out with a laythe. I talked to my pop, who said the same. The swirl marks are there... From the discovery channel thingy, did they say it was worth any more than a Penny?

If they got caught it was worth 7 to 10. Defacing govt property. The real flawed coins go foe big bucks but the people buying them know the tricks. Speaking of tricks will a dime fit inside it? I remember seeing trick coins as well set it over a dime and voilla.

I hate to give this one away. It will ruin the mystery. I feel like that guy on FOX TV, the Masked Magician.

It's one half of a magicians penny. With it, you can make a dime dissappear if you know how.
