You wanting to know about FTA being worth it in general or those speciifc units? I have no experience with those particular units, but I think FTA is well worth it.

If you use it to "steal" all the good chanels, then it is well worth it. You pay about $250-$350 once and never have to pay a montly fee. Also unlike cable it is hard to track you down. Depending on how many dishes you have and how they are positioned you can receive thousands of channels. Also there is a web site (forgot the name) that has all the updated codes for receiving other then FTA channels.

You have to know how to load the bin file, channel list, and change the bin code. Some FTA boxes are not user friendly. The picture quality will depend on FTA box you have and off course the bin file.

I heard from a friend that his boss was caught doing that and had to pay a large fine. I'm wondering how he got busted hackn other channels, since the sat single shots downward and there's no single going back up to the sats 'weird'.
