Discussion: Worse Movie Ever

I was really bored tonight, so a buddy and I went to BlockBuster to get a movie, after 40-50 min, we couldnt decide on one. We started talking about the worse movies we've ever seen. He proclaimed Blues Brothers 2000 , and I wasn't quite sure, since I was lucky enough to avoid that one. So here's my list of movies to avoid at all cost.

1. Event Horizon
2. Pie (but with the symbol, I can't find that key on the keyboard
3. Rockstar
4. Drag Strip Girl
5. Harold and Maud

Please feel free to list yours, might be able to save eachother a few $$$, since it's up to $4.25 a movie at my Blockbuster.

Mike

Blues Brothers 2000 was a terrible movie but being a blues fan with some of blue's greats like bb king and eric clapton playing a gig at the end made it tolerable.

Oh, recent movies?

Elizabeth Berkely's stripper movie was pretty bad. Make it tolerable and rent the director's cut (non R) movie. The pool scene was pretty damn hot.

All time? Plan 9 from Outer Space was pretty damn bad. Horrible dialog, crappy sets (that fell apart while shooting, and they didn't bother to reshoot.) Oh, and Bela Legosi died during filming, so they used a different actor, and didn't reshoot his scenes (all two of them). I've actually got that movie at home, it's black and white, good for a laugh when you are at home alone with a 12 pack.

Upcoming shitty movies..that f'n Kangaroo movie and the aforementioned Biker Boys. I dig Lawernce Fishburn, but that just looks too damn hokey.

Starship Troopers bad? I just think she doesn't care for the shower scene. It's coed EVERYTHING in the future.

Ohhhhh man I got some bad ones...

Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 is quite possible the most horrible thing ever put on file. No idea why I watched it... thing it was on the movie channel back in college. Renee Zelweger (sp?) and (I think) Matthew Modine (is that his name) are in it... if you ever see it you'll be in absolute awe of how horrible it is... it's worth watching just for that experience.

Pi was actually a good movie. Try watching it REALLY f*cked up and it'll make sense to ya.

Starship troopers wasn't bad either for what it was supposed to be... and yeah that shower scene was pretty tight.

OH... if anyone's ever seen Battlefield Earth that is a classic for just being terrible too...

Some candidates...

Saturn 3 with Farrah Fawcett, Krik Douglas, and Harvey Keitel.

Moonraker, with Roger Moore, not only the worse Bond movie, but a pretty shitty movie overall.

Def-Con 4, wow this movie sucks!

Moontrap, with Walter Koenig and Bruce Campbell.

1. Astronaut's Wife vomit - i'd rather gnaw my arm off than sit through this again
2. Die Another Day vomit - where is the line between fantasy special agent and cartoon character? This was more of an insult to the series than Roger Daultry.
3. Goldmember vomit - humor in this movie is about equal with the WASSSAAAAAPPP saying and the Macarena.

Thats my top 3 for now, i'm sure theres tons more but I cant think of em right now.

I always argue the counterpoint this one. Although dialogue and acting sucked, the plot had a lot of merit if you're into WWII history. Most people didn't understand that the screenwriter did the plot as a spoof on war propoganda, socialism, and senseless distruction of war in the pre nuclear weapons age (pre 1950).

It wasn't a great movie but not bad.

A lot scifi junkies have the same complaints about Babylon 5. It's not about the scifi shit, it's about the basic storyline, plot and character dramas.

Dude where's my car. It's so bad that you have to watch. I sat there with the remote in my hand and watched the whole thing, all the while saying to myself every two minutes "I need to turn, I need to turn." Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Ditto.

For the record, Plan 9 from Outer Space has for decades been recognized as the "Worst Movie Ever Made". The fact is, it's so poorly acted, produced, scripted, that's it's actually one of the unintentionally funniest movies ever made. I watched it once with a some friends and a couple cases of beer. (That day, we invented the format that would become Mystery Science Theater 3000. Those bastards stole our idea).

"People of Earth are Idiots. Stupid, stupid idiots..." They don't write dialog like that anymore...

Compared to "Dude, Where's My Car", Plan 9 is a cinematic triumph!

I've read some Bond flicks on here..

Moonraker? I'll have to check that out again. I thought it was good. Then again, I dig the Jaws character.

Die Another Day? Only part I thought that really sucked was the ending sequence with the jet/ice thing. How he got out of that predictiment was just TOO hokey.

Other bad Bond movies...Diamonds are Forever (Die Another Day has a lot of similarities with this one), The Spy Who Loved Me. Oh yeah, On her majesty's secret service..the infamous one that was so bad, Connery came back and did Diamonds are forever. Bond gets hitched??

Good Bond flicks...Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice (Dr. Evil was based on this bad guy), Live and Let Die, The Man with the Golden Gun (Christopher Lee is the ultimate bad guy).

Yeah...

Yeah Kentucky Fried Movie is a classic... how dare you talk smack about it.

I have to agree that Dude Where's My Car was painful to sit through. The 'special effects' at the end made me want to throw things at the screen.
