Damn! Last year it was crashes and deaths. This year its stolen bikes. Damn, that sucks babboon balls.

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

No to all the above. Please lets not turn this into one of "those" threads, I would appreciate it. I have full coverage, if it comes down to it, I get the $$ from the insurance company and get something new, I just don't want to....

Taken between 10pm and 8am this morning. I was up til 2am and didn't hear anything, but that means nothing. It had to have been picked up b/c if they punched the ignition and started it, I woulda heard that bitch from a mile away

yeah, generally you have to wait to make sure it isn't recovered. That's a long wait, the longer it is the more you pray they dont find it for it will surely be fucked up. Hope it turns up ASAP or not at all. Good luck, bro.

Cops said prob a month wait, and if I get the money after that and they find it, then it looks like I got myself a stunt bike to sell or a track bike

Once they pay you, if the bike is recovered, it belongs to the ins. company unless you negotiate to buy it.

actually if the insurance pays you off and then they find the bike it is owned by the insurance company. Some companies offer you the option to buy it from them at a low-ish price, most do not though.

Insurance companies wait 30 days to see if it is recovered. Of course you should be hoping it doesn't get recovered cause it is never the same. Its like having your baby violated. Just make the police report, and insurance report and get a bicycle.

Thats why i was asking. Maybe a certain lock used is EASILY cut/defeated. If i knew people were getting a certain brand of lock picked easily it would DEFINITLY sway me to NOT use that type.

You would think if it were a p/u truck cameras would catch something! a van is a different case.

As far as one of those threads go....... Its not any of our business whether someone uses a lock or not...... Hind sight is 20/20 of course. There are many times i dont use a lock......

ALSO-- A lock is only there to slow them down. If they want it--its theirs!

sorry my above post came out wrong, I realize that if they wanted it, and on a street w/ 3 late 80's early 90's bikes mines prob the nicest, they would have it. It's no doubt in my mind they cased the place, especially b/c I've been parking in close to the same spot on the street for the past 10 days and they prob had a plan all setup to come at like 4am and pick her right up

Woohoo, CPD comes to the rescue!!!! Just happened in the past 2 hours

Went and signed all the forms to prosecute and I already have court scheduled for Monday 6/19!!! Thanks to Antonio Givens for having posession of my bike and not running, fucking asshole. I owe a huge thanks to 11th precinct officers "OJ" , Velasquez, and their partner for recognizing this dumbass on my bike w/ no gear and no plates. They quickly saw that and cornered his ass so he couldn't run. They called me literally 10 minutes after they saw the bike. In order to prosecute, they actually came all the way to Loyola to pick me up, which was awesome.

Damage isn't too bad overall. Ignition was punched w/ a scredriver and they basically used a housekey inserted in the ignition, which also cracked the steering lock. The gas tank lock was drilled out and I couldn't get it open, which caused me to have to drop off the bike at my boy Jasons place until I can get a tow up to whatever shop I'm taking it to b/c right now the only way to turn it on or off is via the battery. Also the right side midpipe is scratched up pretty bad and has some paint transfer from whatever they took my bike away with, and the right side peg is bent quite a bit. Looks like some burnouts and shit were done on the tires as well, b/c there's less tread left, and the clutch is even worse now. Oh and I "believe" the damage from my hit and run is worse, so looks like I'll "have" to claim that damage as well.

I was riding it back, and only made it back to around UIC before the gas light came on, so I called Jason back and he let me store it in his garage until I could get things straightened out (again I owe ya a big one buddy). The chain is also much looser so he was prob beating the shit out of it and theres some scratching on the swingarm from where it was rubbing so looks like I can get a new one of those too. Also he stripped the VIN tag, but didn't do shit about the stamp on the frame, so we'll see what happends w/ that. As I was riding it back the back end was a little squirrely, so hopefully thats nothing.

The thing that I'm worried about most is my insurance info and registration is missing from my trunk w/ my home address and shit on it. But if they take a trip out there, I'm sure they'll be surprised if they ever try to start shit w/ my dad So looks like I'll be making a zillion phone calls tomorrow, to the insurance company, dealership, DA, etc...
