Mistaken Identity

Just curious, how many of you have been mistaken as cops when you enter a place with your gear on?

Last night I stopped at McDonalds downtown and they tried to give me a free meal because they thought I was a cop. I turned it down but this has happened multiple times. Another time I was out, some guys were smokin the ooohh weeeee in a car, I pulled next to them and they start getting out of the car saying we are not doing anything officer. I guess the blue headlights don't help. Has anyone else have this happen?

I have a black cap that says "COPS" every time I wear it I get treated differently hahahahha. This silly hat got me out of speeding ticket in Minnesota last winter. The trooper saw it and asked if I was a cop and I said yes. Then he asked me nicely to slow down and enjoy my stay in his state.

With my gear on, I've never been mistaken for a cop, but have been mistaken for a bank robber. I walked in the bank with my textile jacket and pants and a black book bag. I clipped the helmet to the bike outside. They must have thought I had bullet proof body armor on. Everyone in the bank went silent and stared at me when I came in, and the security gaurd asked me to leave the bag near the door. When they found out I was making a deposit and not a withdrawal, everything was okay .

I would have been laid out on the floor behind one of those sand filled ashtrays waiting for bullets to fly. They probably thought you had 100 lbs of dynamite under your coat. Should have started whispering "Allah" under your breath as you walked to the counter.

Next time, walk up to the counter, wipe out your shit and say I'd like to make a deposit.

On a serious note, half the time I walk into a Starbucks, the counter girl asks me if I am "a racer or something".
