Like most things legal and economic, the correct answer is it depends.

This is my favorite late night hang out there. http://www.doubledownsaloon.com/

I have had family there since the 60's and visited very often for a while.

For scary, stroll a few blocks behind the statosphere or down Charleton blvd. Vegas away from the glitz and recent growth/money is a hard, dirty town. (dirty like in litter, garbage and homeless) Lot's of used up people I've known out there.

Several years ago my uncle had a pro gambler that would buy a caddilac from him and then a few weeks/ month later we would repo it. Then he would come back in a while and do it again and again and again. Easy money. Way more steady and predictable than gambling. Dancer/ roommates/ house keepers/ porn actresses are a trip too. All sorts of funny sad stories.

Let me know if you eat at the expensive restaurants in the hard rock. My bro works there.

One of my favorite places to hit (which is a must if you like a deal) is the pawn shops. Its incredible what you find there! Poor broke sons of bitches will sell the gold from a tooth to CHANCE a win at a table......

Just got back 2 weeks ago and am going again twice in Sept

Place of dwell = The Hotel (topless pool chock full o strips)
Early Evening = The Spermint Rhino
Later Evening = Tryst or Tao (clubs in The Wynn and Venetian)
Late late Evening = Shhhhhh, only the few really know

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming WOW, what a RIDE !!"

I used to go every year, I'll be back for the first time in 16 months at the end of July...

Favorite Places -
Eat: Pink Taco (Hard Rock)
Drink: Rum Jungle/Red Square (Mandalay Bay)
Stay: Mandalay Bay
Dance: Palms (not ghost bar, but the one downstairs)
Get Trashed: Blue Agave (Palms) Huge $1.00 Margharita's
Stare at Titties: Spearmint Rhino (friends wife works there)
Proposition hookers with buddies, and then argue pricing: Any strip club on the "old vegas strip" (ask if they party "after hours")

Vegas is great if done right, just don't bring home more than memories if you know what I mean...

It's not the fall that hurts... it's the sudden stop at the end...

As my bro puts it. "If you remembered Vegas you weren't drunk enough". True that
