Left Turn Highway Coverleafs?

Anyone know of some left turn highway coverleafs near the western burbs?

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

355 south, where it ends and take I-55 North... nice long sweeper, high speed, big left then right, make sure you slow up and let all the cars get out of the way.

Dang I was minute late!! Thanks Uniball!

The question is, is the ramp worth dying for.

When you play....

When you play on those ramps, do yourself a favor and forget the classic racing line you are dreaming about. Stay inside because the outside is where everyone flings all their dripping oil, anit-freeze, etc.

If you ain't with us, then it's just bad news.

I've followed you around BHF, why not go back there and work on those things in a safe environment where you can get feedback from others? Is it worth risking a crash trying to figure out the best postion for your foot?

Life has no instruction manual. Parts and labor can be impossible to find. Many go down the road with parts that are in need of service. A breakdown is eventual.

That one from 355 to 55 is a killer. Big drop off the right hand side.

Alright, where are some nice straight roads where I can practice my 6th gear wheelies and rolling stoppies? Preferrably a road with some school zones and day care centers.

I do need to hit the track. Problem is I seem to get carried away and end up riding over my head. I keep on pushing until I push too far. Without gravel, traffic, and cops it feels like a prison break.

So how do I keep my head on straight?

Now yer talkin my squid type language

I love the debates tween track and street - Done both many many times - The track is not always the answer to everything - I love the track, don't get me wrong - I love the street too - Sometimes at 11:30 pm on a Tuesday, I wanna ride - No track available, gotta hit the street - Do it with caution of course but I see a trend on this board of every persons answer of "take it to the track" - While it is a good answer, it is not alwaya applicable to every situation - Seen a lot go wrong on the track just as I have on the street - Not to sound like an old man on his soap box but it just makes me giggle when every answer is "track" but in reality, cash for track fee's, bike prep, full gear, transportation to the track, etc etc - It is not always as easy as "take it to the track"

Tru dat.

But in all reality, we shouldn't be carving it up on the street. Not being able to afford the track in all honesty isn't an excuse for riding fast on public roads. Riders with a need for speed should keep it slow on the public roads until they can get to the track. If we can't afford it, then we should save up.

I'll admit, this is idealistic and I do tear it up like a crazed mutha fuker on public roads, but I know I shouldn't.

Take some hours and comb over google maps to scout out locations to suit your particular need. Go check them out. That doesn't mean go in blind like an asshat, but go really check them out... the road surface, condition, visibility, road debris, liklihood of animals crossing, etc...

You can be very safe on the street but it takes a lot more planning and scouting around. Late at night always helps too with everything but the animals

Everyone Exaggerates

We're being taken for a ride... agaaaaaaain.....

I hear ya man - My track days are behind me just as are my "squid street" days - I have crashed on both and rode hard and great on both - If I am going to really press it, I head WAY the fuk out in the middle of no where - No traffic and other ppl to fuk with - If I crash out there, sobeit - It is my doing - Just as long as I do not hurt others while doing so

Before the flamning starts, I am now trying to get back into Track Days but with 4 wheels - Now, you wanna talk about $$$ ?????
