Are there any Freemasons here?

I've always been interested in them and the more I read about their organization and purpose the more I feel I agree with it. Anyone here a mason?

Not I but a good friend is. We joke around about the stonecutters all the time. It's interesting reading about it, but I believe you have to know somebody that is one really well to get in.

Yeah, I remember that from the 90's. You have to be represented by one. It's history is very hush, hush and you just can't join.

I've actually found a contact number from a masonry website with joining information. They give a number to call to speak with someone about joining. Before I do that I'd like to see if anyone here is.

Also, I've read plenty of articles on Freemasons, I don't need to be told about them from people who seen something on TV... This information is taken directly from one of their websites:

"In order to join the fraternity of Freemasonry, you must ask a member how you may join. This is done to ensure that you come into Freemasonry of your own free will; without expectation of material gain. You get out of Freemasonry only what you are willing to put into it"

There is a members avatar with masonic symbology on it. You just have to know what to look for.

I don't know their rules so I don't want to call him out.

Almost my whole family are masons. My grandfather, my father, my brother, my uncle, etc...

I am not. There is a reason why I am not. PM me and we'll talk.

I was hit up about joining when I was in the Army. One of the contractors and I became good friends and he started to preach to me about it. I shot it down though.

My roommate was one, I was going to get a spike but did not. Don't forget there are dues associated with this (and any club for that matter). He said it was OK, but if you are looking to network, join Rotary (little more expensive, but worth it). I quite frankly was going to join, but just don't have time

Not a Mason (wrong gender) but if you go to the Allstate Arena parking lot on Tuesday evenings, you'll get to meet the Medinah Motor Corps (Shriners are a higher level of Freemasonry).

It's a great organization with which to be involved!

What club?? we are not a club. And membership is just that, you join and then your a member. Yes you pay dues and if you want to see where the dues money goes just look at Shriners Hospitals all over the world, look at the Knights Templar Eye Foundation, Dentistry for handicapped children and so on. If you have a specific question ask it, if your trying to break balls thats cool too. We do a lot of good and we DO NOT try to debunk all the negative bs that people throw on us. thats it in a nut shell, you can get my phone number from the website I posted with my proper name, call if there's a burning question you need answered. Oh well, back to the dark ages.

I think youve misinterpreted my intention of asking what its all about. I have no hidden agenda or a *burning question*. I simply flatout 100% unequivically have NO IDEA what it is. You seem to have this impression that I know something or have a preconceived impression of who//what you are. Not the case whatsoever.

and my club/membership question...sorry, showing my ignorance to the entire subject
Oh well..back to the dark ages for me
