way back when, when time and space were still in the universe, there were a few people that didnt like behaving in group rides which included stunting front and mid of the pack.

bar hopping with bikes etc,.

a few people spoke there mind and told them there idiots, and they ran away and started a new club.

since then i dont know whats happened to them with there style of doing things.

but never the less through the years it seems its still the same.

we are a older and more mature crowd.

so if hate is still there for us, oh well most of dont care anymore infact i know i sure dont.

people will find the other kind of people they want to be with no matter what there taste, they will find others to join in with.

It's just a different culture on there...

An illustration: Ya know that thread that blackrose posted on here about the Q101 ride? We laughed at how that would be a total squid fest -- Jim said something about "bumper cars at every light."

Their thread on the Q101 ride is all about how cool it is and how many are planning on going. It's just a different scene and different set of values, that's all.

And I'd like to think that on here, we encourage safety and perhaps even save a life here and there through prevention via education and the social influence of good riding habits...A guy at your stage in the game doesn't need to go on a web board and read about how much fun bar hopping and riding wasted is. I fear it will catch up with somebody someday.

Best said right here. When I was young and dumb +1 Grew up worked as an EMT pulling people off of trees and collecting limbs. Booze and bikes with no gear = grease spot

Yep, i kinda figured by looking around how they treat things different, but i'm not going to do anything stupid lol, esp. after messin around and falling. And as for riding wasted, or even w/any alcohol, it scared me enough when i started to get sleepy on the way home from putnam, had to pull over for a bit a take a nap ...uncomfortable to do so, but worth doing.

That was a nutcase day for you, get up early, drive from Chicago to Putnam, by 6:30am, ride Putnam and then drive back to Chicago!

All that without a windshield!

Glad to hear that you were smart enough to pull over and rest, you deserved it.

on CLSB you get threads that talk about the political climate of the middle east, and other thoughtful intelligent posts.

That it was....

Found a windshield though! Guess someone took note of that while i was at putnam and had garth forward their email to me. Theirs is from a 95 ninja though, so it'll be the E model, rather than D. Hopefully it'll fit, if not...i'll just drill the correct holes!

I had a good time when I was over there, but I remember when over here would start having discussions about politics, and they'd just make fun of us for it. That really made me feel like coming over here.

For whatever reason, they hate us, so be it. They were always messing with our frappr site until frappr made it that you could moderate the members.

To each his own, I dont hate anybody, but thats just me.

I admit, it feels a bit less mature over there, but still not a bad place. One plus I can say that I noticed about their site is that you pretty much get everything at face value. I've seen preaching of safety here only to see the very people do the opposite of what they say. I've seen members get frowned on for stunting and I've seen mods and admins do it multiple times in a group themselves. Only on that sort of level I'd say that we are a little more "do as I say, not as I do". For sure I think it feels a bit more relaxed here if that makes sense, and there's much more good than bad (so don't think my example is all that bad of this place).
