i know, when i saw the previews for it in theater i thought it was a joke....how the hell can you have a plot with snakes on a plane...not like they are 'smart' and can tell when to bite people. The stupidity of this makes me angry!

Snakes on a Plane is going to win the MTV Best Movie award next year. Mutha fukin Jules himself said so!

Seriously, I think they made it campy on purpose. It's supposed to be silly and ridiculous. What cracks me up is it's the new internet fad for when a topic goes off course or makes no sense at all. Kind of like the "Wookies don't live on Endor" pictures after South Park did that episode. They even redid the "All your base are belong to us" with the Snakes on A Plane theme.

This movie is,in fact, not a joke.
The premise is: Samuel L. Jackson is transporting a federal witness to court to testify, the snakes are smuggled on the plane by the bad guy and then a pheromone is released though the vents to make the snakes agressive and presumably kill the witness without implicating the bad guy.

There were several hundred non-poisonous snakes used which bear a resemblance to the deadly ones, also some mechanical snakes. Several actors backed out of this movie after finding out real snakes were involved.

For more details on the making of this movie, see the latest copy of Fangoria magazine: it's the one with the bloody gored face & snake on the cover.

I'm relatively certain that they originally were going to make this movie serious... like a lot of B horror movies that suck really badly. When they came up with the name... Someone said "you've gotta be kidding..." and at that point they realized something bad... Their funding was in jeopardy. So they went "uh... yeah... it's a campy horror movie that's... not afraid to make fun of itself... yeah... THAT'S the ticket!"

When word got out about it on the net about a year ago it became THE movie that proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that hollywood has gone insane. Jokes and parodies cropped up like crazy. And the marketing people behind the movie went "I think we can work with this." So now it's making fun of itself in the previews they are showing, and it's going to be a money making juggernaut (as far as B movies go that is)...

Here's my prediction... 45-50 million in it's opening weekend. 110-120 million peak.

So I get this call today from Samuel Jackson, he's telling me why I have to see Snakes On A Plane but he has all these details about me. My name, where I work ect...

I'm like WTF??

One of my idiot friends did it. You can have Jackson call anyone by entering their information the web site. You also pick details about them and he'll say any name. It's fricken hilarious.
