Finally Rode to work Today

Today was a great choice of a day to ride to work, weather was perfect. It was the first time I've done so since I bought my bike. I probably will not do so too often b/c it wasn't very fun in the traffic I have to sit through. There was a freaking light out on Ogden and Yackley in lisle and I sat for about 15 min and my bike started to get on the warm side of the temp gauge. I was afraid it was going to overheat so I had to ride down the centerstrip about a mile and a half. I know it was unsafe and illegal as hell, but it would have been another 30 min before I got to the light that was out.

I saw someone on my way, they Had on a Black/White Helmet and I think the bike was Maroon-ish, I can't remember what color jacket. On Ogden through naperville. Anyone on here??

Life's Journey Is Not To Arrive At The Grave Safely In A Well Preserved Body, But Rather To Skid In Sideways, Totally Worn Out, Shouting "HOLY SHIT... What A Ride!"

All you have to do is follow three simple rules. One, never under estimate your opponent (mentality). Expect the unexpected (could work out in your favor). Two, take it outside(or to a table). Never start anything inside the Bar unless it's absolutely necessary. And three, be nice.

I thought it was maroonish, I was a couple cars back though, so it could have been another color. Probably around N-ville north high school around 7:15 am.

It was a joke man, do a search for threads where someone saw a blue Gixxer and wondered if it was someone on CLSB.

Congrats on the first ride to work, I used to do it all the time, the boss was never happy when I'd show up covered in sweat with a wrinkled shirt though.

BTW, riding down the center is dangerous, but sometimes it has to be done, better to do that, than to overheat and be stuck on the side of the road with all the cagers even more pissed at you for holding up traffic. Just ride slowly and watch for assholes who will try and block you. They don't seem to realize that by you going inbetween them, you're not causing him/her to be any later, it's a win/win situation that pisses off cagers.

I know it's dangerous, but I figured better that than get stuck in the traffic with an overheated bike. You should have seen the cagers faces as I went by, they DID look pretty pissed. Especially the lady I pulled in front of that was at the front of the line.

I get the blue gsxr thing now, don't really pay that much attention to those threads.

Just make sure you're not going appreciably faster than they are and could stop if one decided to change lanes in front of you.

I wasn't between cars going in the same direction, I was between the left hand lane in the direction I was traveling and oncoming traffic. It was like one off those center turn lanes that people going in either direction can use to turb into buisnesses and such. I just stayed close to my side and went ~10-15 mph.
