Indiana Sniper

I think I was shot at by the I-65 sniper. I was northbound on 65 in a semi pulling doubles last Thursday when I heard a loud bang like as if a gun went off in the cab. It was very disturbing to say the least. I then noticed a chip in the passenger side window. At the time I chalked it up to a farmer out target shootin' with a bad aim. Now I hear there's a sniper out ther shootin' people. I guess I'm just lucky he/she missed me.

I'm sure your windshield gets shot all the time and you're an expert.

Probably not...

but i feel that he is correct about the rifle report and having more than just a chip in the window. windshields are laminated glass and if a round went through one you would have a hole the size of the round and the rest of the windsheild would spiderweb immediately. most passenger windows are not laminated glass, so they would just shatter and fall all over the place.

unless the shooter was right next to the truck when the shot went off, there is a very high likelyhood that you would never hear anything but the glass breaking from the round traveling through it. even a .22 rifle would be effective at shooting out a window from pretty far away. you would have to be a pretty damn good shot using a .22 at distance, but i think it is possible. more likely than the magic JFK bullet theory.

just my .02

The picture they had in the Suntimes showed half the rear window of a truck cab being shot out.

I was on I-65 for a few miles coming back from MI on Sunday.. Hope this is not a repeat from a few years ago.

It seems mostly trucks have been hit, although there are more to pick from.

all the way from Chicago to Cincinnati yesterday (probably saw 20+) of the road work signs read, "report suspicous overpass activity to the police". I thought there were bomb threats or something until someone in Cinci told me what was up. Glad you weren't hurt. I have to drive back that way tonight. I was driving through columbus a few years ago when this same shit was going on. Crazy.

Sunday morning I was on my big black WANG and rode I-65 north all the way from louisville to I-80/94. Had no idea about the sniper thing until I got home.

There was no one around me at the time and the sound was from the impact of whatever hit the window. I was in the far right lane next to nothing but corn. It looked like a glancing blow at a very steep angle from the look of the mark. Whatever it was, it was very high velocity to make that sound. Mind you, at this time the sniper was not known about. I sure hope they catch this [email protected] I'm headed out that way again in a couple of hours.

**UPDATE**

Sniper just shot another driver. Fucker was seen in Hammond, In, on 169th and Klein in some grassy fields. He was wearing a long black trenchcoat and was seen in a Toyota truck. ( i assume it's a pick up) heard this on the radio. watch out and BE CAREFUL!

You are correct. Malvo was the kid and his accomplice was John Allen Muhammad. They shot people in the DC area.

The Ohio sniper is different and the police that worked that case are helping the Indiana folks.

Malvo was the kid. John Allen Muhammed was the guy. And yes mostly DC but several other parts of the country as well. There was also a guy in Ohio near Columbus.
