Cracked Windshield (car)

I was on my way to work this morning and the jackass in front of me picked up a dime sized stone with his tire and threw it at my windshield. I now am the proud owner of a shiny nickel sized crack. Anyone know/recommend some goo or paste to put on the shiny crack before it spiders out?

On the same topic, anyone know the cheapest place I can get to come replace the windshield on my 2000 Excursion? Chip turned into large crack...

if you have a chip and it can be repaired, call your insurance company most will repair it free of charge, they probably won't replace though...

yup yup You might have to cover the cost up front but they reimburse you for it because it's cheaper than having to replace the whole dang window

Had the chip repaired. Last week it turned into a 2 foot crack.

Hence the request for the cheapest solution. $500 deductible at insurance company.

I know my old insurance company, Prudential, wouldn't require you to pay the deductible.

call aaron auto glass, they will come to your house. My roommate just had a new windshield put on his ford lightning (might be the same glass) it was under $200 and they did it in our driveway

Check your insurance. I have a $250 Deductible but when i cracked the glass in the Tahoe it was only a $50 deductible. Go figure!! State farm even contacted the place to come to the house to do it!!

I know my ins through American Family as a $0 deductible on glass. Other wise start calling around to auto glass places. I used that crack filler crap that you get at Auto Zone on my Blazer and it's shit...so don't try that.
