Cell phone stuff

Sooo, i'm trying to look at some of the major providers online, but none are giving much info on their plans, seems like when i was in an actual store, there were a LOT more options on stuff...they dont even tell you anything about texting and what-not

So my question is, just so i have an idea what to look for tomarrow-ish, what providers have good deals with phones currently mostly. I'm going to look for something that has a nice camera and hopefully comes with an mp3 player, but if thats a lotta $$ i'll just shoot for the camera part, considering i have a small mp3 player already.

Also, i'm hoping to find a plan that is decent, but mainly i am thinking about something that has either a LOT of texting included, or unlimited. I have a feeling that if i'm paying .05 a text, which may be normal??, i'm going to rack up a big bill.

Any tips would be appreciated,
Steve

I know that US Cell is 15 cents per text right now, and US Cell was voted the best network in Chicago a few months ago... They have the Motorola 323 which is not MP3 but a good price for an indestrutable phone. Mine flew outta my jacket pocket on the interstate I found it and made a call. The plans that they have for text are awesome and you can change your plans at anytime without an extension fee...

I just recently switched providers, I used to have sprint... never had any problems except i felt i was overpaying... every month my bill was at least 115$ (300 anytime minutes, free nights after 7, free weekends, sprint to sprint, unlimited text/picture/email sending/receiving, and i had the internet package) i didn't like sprints choices in phones when we went to get my g'f a new one... so we went to cingular...

i got the new Motorola SLVR L7 w/itunes (easily moddable and comes with data cable)

iTunes Digital Jukebox - play, sort, store and manage music
VGA Camera with 4x digital zoom, video capture and playback
Bluetooth® wireless synchronization
Download games, MP3, ringtones and streaming video
Mobile Instant Messaging using AOL®, Yahoo!® and ICQ® Instant Messaging
Sleek ultra thin RAZR like design
Multimedia Messaging - send text, pictures and sound
Pre-installed 512 MB Micro SD card for extended memory
Store up to 100 songs on removable Micro SD card
iTunes synchronization with your computer via included software
Shuffle music library or select songs by artist, album or playlist
Mobile email and browser
Built-in stereo speakers
Brilliant TFT color display with 262k colors
Voice activated dialing and speakerphone
Customizable music and wallpaper
Music pauses for incoming calls then resumes

my g'f got the new LG CU500 (not sure about moddability didn't come with data cable and that music ID shit is raw, turn the radio on and turn on the music id and it will tell you whats playing)

Swivel camera with 1.3 MP & video
MP3 music player with music ID
Cingular Video capabilities
Bluetooth® wireless with next generation A2DP
Instant messaging - AOL®, Yahoo!®, ICQ® & MSN®
Cool media applications: MobiTV, MobiRadio, Billboards
Download Music Tone ringtones, games & graphics
Multimedia messaging - Send, photos, text & sounds
Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE world phone with domestic UMTS and HSDPA
Simultaneous multitasking
3D sound with equalizer
Speakerphone

so far the service isn't the worst... i mean i get great signal but unlike my sprint which was really clear... every cingular phone i've talked on almost has this dead air sound, kinda like the phone is two inches away from your ear.

as far as packages, me and my g'f are on a family plan so it probably wouldn't apply to you as much.

as far as the rest of the companys, I've had issues with US Cellular in the past so i wouldn't recommend them (and 15 cents a text is insane since every other company is 10) never had verizon/tmobile or any of the others so i have no opinion on them
