Pain...

I have been playing ice hockey and riding motorcycles since I was a little kid. I am 26 years old and today I feel like I am 80. I can feel the ankle I broke 10 years ago, the hyper extended knee, the chips in my elbows, the collar bone I broke and the bone chip in my jaw.

Is it the weather? Am I going to die? Does anyone have a liquid form of IB profin that I can inject through an IV?

FUCK!!!

Damn dude, your falling apart. The only stuff I ever found to work of bad joints was Vioxx but they pulled that stuff last year because people that took them like m&m's were getting heart problems. The shit worked like magic though. With I had a stash of it before they pulled it.
Recently when I screwed up my elbow while lifting the doc just said to take it easy and to take 800mg of advil every 6hrs for 1 week. Believe it or not it worked a bit.

I crashed at BHF in the bus stop the weekend before last and for some stupid fucked up reason while I was sliding across the fresh ashphalt at 60mph I decided to stand up. I tumbled and got lucky, but now my knee and ankly are bothering me a bit.

Fuck it! I'm going racing this weekend anyway! Rain, sleet or snow, I'm there!!!

L-Glutamine is good for joints. You can pick it up from your Mom & Pop Vitamin store and its not that expensive. I think I paid something like $13 for 680 servings of that stuff. You only use a tad of it and mix it in with juice or water.

You're only 26 and you're complaining about being sore. Wait until you turn 40!

Vicadin and a couple of beers will fix you right up.

Ha, don't take pain killers! You'll be a better person later on. On a side note, I never fully recover from injuries. I had the worst sprain on my ankle this past April in Breckenridge, and I still feel the pain every time I walk. At state wrestling finals in 02 (senior year) I was thrown into a desparate last minute headlock and dislocated my shoulder. I can barely throw a baseball or football without it hurting.

I fist started to notice subtle things in my mid twentys. By thirty I had real appreciation for the statement "...my body just doesn't recover from a night of drinking like it used to."

I'm 26 as well (turning 26 on Friday ). Not as advanced as you are, I just have fucked up back (construction work), misplaced knee cup (skiing), separated shoulder (car accident) on one side and slightly fucked up muscles/whatever on the other side (bike), broken wrist (fell on the ground from some height). All this isn't really a big deal, most of them are old. But sometimes, esp in the bad weather, they all hurt and annoy the hell out of me.

What I found for myself is that pain killers and the likes is not a very good idea in the long run. Yeah, you'll feel better today, but you'll fuck up your digestive system and get a bunch of other side effects.

So I figure, for bad joints and old injuries and all it makes sense to give it some long-term care. Yoga couple of times per week (I like Bikram but many other styles are known to work well, too) + sauna at least once a week can go a long way.

The only period ot time in the last few years when I did not remember about my back, knee etc was this spring, when I did Bikram yoga several days a week. It was difficult in the beginning, but then I realized I didn't pay attention to my back anymore and all the other problem parts. Alas, I was stupid enough to stop doing it and now starting again.

I feel your pain, been playing Hockey since I was six, and my knees are shot. Today for some reason is especially painful. Usually it doesnt bother me from hot to cold, I have more probs adjusting when the weather goes cold to hot/humid, but today, WTF. I took 4 advils earlier and my knees are still throbbing. I am adjusting my rearsets down tonite!

See if you can get your doctor to prescribe low doses of testosterone. It'll help you recover a bit faster.

What a pussy.

Hell I've had arthritis in my knee since I was 8. NOTHING other than plain asprin even helps with the pain. Even Vicodin didnt help.

To give you an idea what it feels like when the barometric pressure drops or rises rapidly.. Think of someone taking your kneecap an lifting it away from teh joint, spinning it 180 degrees and then trying to put it around to the back of your knee. I've had days where I could barely make it up steps cause it hurt so bad. Had 2 days where I had to call in to work sicne I couldnt walk too far.

What a pussy! I performed my own circumcision at the age 28 with an exacto knife and turpentine.

During my tenure at the prestigious MAYO clinic we successfully proved that self circumcision with an exacto knife and turpentine is more painful than arthritis.
