Penn vs Hughes vid--- while it lasts!

I'm sure it'll be taken down soon...

http://showfile.filevend.com/6325/4M...c63_fight6.htm

3rd declaration: In such extreme circumstances, the law is by definition inadequate. To shame its inadequacy, it is necessary to act outside the law, to pursue natural justice. This is not vengeance. Revenge is not a valid motive-it is an emotional response. Vengeance serves no larger purpose. Society does not benefit from vengeance. Violent men are not deterred by acts of vengeance. The only appropriate response to their actions is the one I have chosen to pursue: a course of purposed, intentional violence. Violence intended to instruct, as much as destruct. A course, in a word, of punishment

Ju Jitsu this, B.J. Penn that...Rogan and company can really overreact at times...it can get pretty annoying...no matter, Hughes is a damn bull, and eventually just overpowered him.

Thanks brotha

I think Rogan makes a pretty good UFC commentator. His sidekick is the stereotypical sports commentator, bland and predictable. Rogan is a fan and is really into the sport and it shows. I think he adds a lot to the show and it wouldn't be as entertaining without him, for me at least

Agreed - The only one worth listening to is the 3 man Randy and he never says shit - He was a bad ass mofo (still is)

To KC's point, I agree that he has done a lot for the sport but he is an actor - I still see him as the handyman from News Radio

I completely agree that he is good for the UFC, and generally I like him...he can just overreact...seemingly intentionally for affect.

That was a surprisingly great fight. Ive never seen Hughes in that much trouble, well, except for their previous encounter. Good job Matt on the conditioning, but youd better have something even better for this guy next time.

Im looking forward to the Hughes vs St Piere fight...I think St Piere has his number this time. Although, I cant believe he too had so much trouble with Penn.

Im ordering that fight for sure.

I thought the entire PPV was the best one in quite a few months. Only one fight went to a decision and that one was still a good fight.

Penn had Hughes' number for the first two rounds, but he came out for the 3rd looking like he put down a bottle of Jack Daniels. The guy was GASSED. Hughes knew it and took advantage. Hughes clearly wanted to make Penn pay for something, he could have ended it alot sooner than it did. He just pummeled his face for what seemed like an eternity.

As far as the commentators go, I think they do a good job. Rogan is a good color commentary guy.

St. Pierre is going to be a big test for Hughes. Hopefully he is ready to go 5 rounds unlike Penn.

Oh and Hughes has been in that much trouble if not more in the past. Frank Trigg had Hughes knocked out...but Hughes had an amazing comeback and choked Trigg out for the 2nd time. That was ana amazing fight.

If Penn had more than a month to prepare I think the outcome would have been different. Penn should get the winner of the next bout at the least.

They spoke of how Penn trained differently for this fight - Not the "run in the am and train in the pm" style that he normally underwent - I think he just took Hughes for granted

He only had a month to prepare. I think we'll see a different penn in the next fight, be it against hughes or st perrier.

Great fight! I can't believe how close Hughes got to being choked out again. Mad props to him & his training for sticking it out in round 2 and getting out of a really bad situation at the last moment. This fight really showed what skill & endurance training can do for you. Penn was a wreck in round 3 and couldn’t even hold his hands up.

That was an awesome fight. I honestly thought Penn had Matt's number for a while, but then he just died in the third. I was still worried when Matt kept bringin him to the ground. Penn is dangerous down there, even when hes gassed. Matt probably could have gotten the job done safer on his feet. Or at least pummeled the hell out of Penn a bit more before going back to the ground.

Anyone on here run into Matt or Mark in IHSA wrestling?

One word for Penn.... CARDIO!!!

One month to train or 1 year, he should have done a ton of cardio knowing that Matt was in great cardio shape.

I agree I think he thought that he was gonna take Matt quick and easy like last time, and it almost worked..... ALMOST.
