Always Read Your Check Stubs!!

Just got my check stub and looked it over just to see how much i got and how much personal/vaca time i've acquired and noticed that i'm not getting paid time/half for overtime! So, seeing that it wasn't on this check and i work OT every weeek, i assume i haven't been getting paid OT for my previous checks! FACK! Man, i could be swimming in $$ right now..

Yup, supposed to be paid time and a half, just asked my team leader/part manager/whatever the fuck she is. And yes, i've got check stubs from the past 2 years. Just to clarify, my check stub goes as follows:

(example)
Regular time: 32 hours
Vacation time: 8 hours
Overtime: 3 hours

Now, in the stub, it shows my regular pay for all 3, but on the OT slot, it should state my regular pay + time and a half = OT pay, right?

I think time and a half only has to be paid when actually working over 40 hours. They don't have to pay you time and a half if you work 32 hours and get paid for 8 hours of vacation.

Vacation pay doesn't count as actual working hours.

Yeah, i'm an idiot for not checking, but who's fault is it that i'm not getting paid ot? Mine? Kruz, i would appreciate it if you refrained from posting in my threads. I have no idea what i've done to you in the past but it seems you have a hard on for me and making me feel dumber than i already am. You have accomplished your mission, and you will get your Dickhead Award in the mail, thank you.

True, but there are other times when i have worked a straight 40 hours and still noticed that my OT pay was the same as the reg pay. I'll check when i get home.

this is not always true. It really depends on the companies policies. He would have to talk to HR to find out.
My company pays OT during the week if you have vacation time or holiday pay but NOT if you have taken a sick day.

Instead of posting, why don't you speak with someone in PayRoll. You would be shocked at the crazy formulas they use to calculate your pay. Either talk to payroll or stop by CVS and pick up a tube of Preparation H to soothe your butthurtness.

I don't check mine either! We don't get paper check stubs. We can view them online if we want, but I'll only go online and view it if I want to check my balances for sick days, vacation days, and personal days.

A large company will take care of this, what method do you have for recording hours worked?

I don't look at mine either, I do not receive OT but do ocassionaly check bonuses and 401k YTD contributions.

If it's their error they could owe you interest also.

Update:

Spoke to Payroll, they claim that they do not put the OT pay on the stub for some bs reason. (Which is why i got confused) The way to check if i was paid for OT is to divide the earnings to the hours of OT worked, and guess what, i am. So, yes, i am an asshat. Thank you.
