Casino Royale kicked ass!

I watched Casino Royale today. BOND FINALLY KICKS ASS! It's a good story, hot Bond girl, cool song from Chris Cornell. He whoops ass ALMOST as much as Jack Bauer. All the action would NOT have been possible with Pierce as Bond. Oh, and very little (if any) CGI, goofy computer stuff.

Anybody else check it out?

Yeah, I like it too, especially that chase scene at the beginning. Also, this guy is the most fun as Bond, and doesn't take any crap from anyone. Your right, he takes a JB approach to most matters

So is James Bond back to being a cocky, egotistical, rapist badass like in the Sean Connery era?

When did Connery ever rape them? Aside from that, yeah, it about sums it up.

This one had a decent plot. The poker playing was a bit slow but that's it. And Felix Leider (Bond's CIA buddy) is in it. I think he's been played by more people than Bond, and about 5 different ethnic backgrounds. I love Aston Martins, can I borrow $170,000?

the guy was like a human monkey, I liked it but it didn't have as much action I expected and Q wasn't in it at all.

Dude, he was totally a rapist. He would force himself on the Evil women, but once they felt his super awesome kissing action they just couldn't resist and went along with it. Bond would basicly turn them around from their evil ways by fucking them.

Loved it; great action & great plot. One of the great things about this Bond movie (just like many of the past) is that when you think the story is ending there is still more. The new Bond is deff a keeper Anyone else think that the torture scene looked a bit painful?

Big +1 on the lack of goofy-ass CGI.

Loved the movie. Did anyone else feel like it just would never end. Not saying that is a bad thing, but 2.5 hrs.... that has to be the longest bond movie. In regards to no Q, you have to remember that this was the very first bond story written. Granted I am sure a few things changed... poker instead of bacrat. But he just got his status as a OO. So he has to make a bit more of a presence to have Q make a couple gadgets. I am just hoping that they find a new Q. Didn't like the replacement.

Torture scene was a little painful. But the whole "itch" comment was hilarious. Aston Martin sounded wonderful. Loved the movie.

On a side note, who has gone out an purchased the Ultimate Bond Set that they are releasing? If you havent and you are a Bond fan, go get it. DTS on all videos, and the picture quality is really good, especially since some of these movies are 20+ years old.

Saw it and Saturday and liked it also. That first scene was like watching those "parkour" free running vids on youtube. Crazy... The new bond is more of an action hero than a slick version of inspector gadget. Pretty cool.

Did your mom even see the movie or is that what she heard from one of her girl friends? He kills plenty of people in this one.

Some people like the old cliche Bond shit. If you're one of those, you'll not like it too well.

If you like some change and some more intrigue (especially w/ his relationship w/ M and the agency) and something different w/ nice BELIEVABLE action, then you'll enjoy it.

Yes, parts dragged on a little bit longer than they should have but I found this story and style a *VERY* welcome and needed change from the typical Same-Old Same-Old that has plagued the Bond films the past 2 decades.

Everyone Exaggerates

We're being taken for a ride... agaaaaaaain.....

Nick it's worth seeing. The new bond would kick the shit out of the old bonds. That's not to say they werent good, but they were always a little too hokey. This movie had a believable plot, good acting, and good action. 3/4 of the way through it started to slow down and drag for a while before picking back up again. Clearly they wanted to explore the character and detail how he becomes such a heartless misogynistic badass.

casino royal. I love the D but pick of destiny is a rental. comedies on the big screen dont have nearly the impact of a big action movie.

Interesting take, perhaps I will do that then and watch KG and JB kick some ass later. Or obtain a copy one way or the other.

One thing I didn't like, was there were no "naked" chicks in the intro scene. Just a bunch of cards floating around.

+1 thats sucked.

What was his alias for the pretty chick he was teamed with, Something Breastwell. It was a joke but well delivered. Reminded me of Austin Powers.
And the Arab chick was super hot.

I liked the flick Thumbs up!

But that poker scene was way too long. wtf! I think that movie set a record for shortest car chase.

I think this new bond needs to develop his sense/acting of charcasm.

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

Yeah, i was pretty pissed that they only showed the Aston Martin getting demolished. Good movie overall, and +1 on the long ass poker scene. And Cook, just watched Bloodrayne on ONDEMAND, and you were correct... so i just ff to the tt scene.
