I love those cars. I almost bought one 3 years ago to replace my beater, but I bought my bike instead.

I had a 91 which I loved til it slid into a curb in the middle of an icy curb , totally not my fault. I've been looking to get another one for awhile, from what I heard the SH package really doesn't add too much other than a price hike

I had an 00 Lude type-s. I loved the car, did many mods to it (not too ricey lol) and just traded it in last year. Never had any problems (besides people fucking with it, some dickless fuck tried to set it on fire in 03). the ONLY problem it EVER had were the window guides failing, other then that, ran like a champ. Handled great (modded the suspension with Sprint springs, Koni's(blues), sways front/rear, stock form outside (cept for the factory kit), Apex'i full exhaust, Sparco racing seat (never put on), and buncha other stuff. Had plans of using it for auto-x but lost interest after purchasing a motorcycle. Great car overall, although the older Lude's with the h22/vtec motor in it was a bit faster due to weight.

Buddy of mine had a late 90 something model, loved the shit out of it. He had over 170K miles and the only thing he said he had to do to it was add headlight fluid aside from the regular maintenance stuff.

I thought the Preludes needed a new muffler bearing every 10000 miles as well?

They are front wheel drive, so not my cup of tea, but they look nice and I've never heard bad things about them aside from their sticker price back in 1998.

I did hear that about the muffler bearings too, they also eat up blinker fluid like crazy.

They can. Almost every prelude my buddy had was not well maintained, and he drives like an idiot, but his Ludes always lasted well over 150-170k. He'd crash them before the motor broke.
