1957 Other Makes All Models RACE CAR
This 1957 Teverbaugh & Kirkland Bonneville Special is truly a very special piece of motor history. This amazing vehicle is simply one of an ever growing collection of unique and rare vehicles Car Collector Trust is excited to bring to the public.
In 1957, with an objective of exceeding 200 MPH on pump gas, this car featured a blown & injected Mercury engine, chromoly tube frame with disc brakes off an airplane, Halibrand quick change rear end and wheels, and a fiberglass body with full bellypan. The original owner's innovations made the car way ahead of its time mechanically and aerodynamically.
With a restoration stretching from 1992 - 2005, the objective was to build a winning/reliable vintage road racer that honored the car's heritage, while complying with the restoration desire of the original owner and the needs of the current owner. Both agreed to the eventual resto/update. (More information on the Update can be found by requesting our PDF brochure by clicking here)
Incredible documentation from the original builders/owners includes dozens of photos documenting the car from the time it was purchased, through the building of the car, and color photos taken on the salt flats and in the Oakland Roadster Show. In addition, there are home movies, Bonneville programs, magazine and newspaper articles and the authentic brass Bonneville tags in the car. All of these can be seen by requesting a DVD by emailing us at [email protected]
