Dark City

What a fantastic film this is. It took all my willpower to Tivo it last night and not watch it through(it was already quite late). Can't wait to finish it tonight. I've seen it multiple times and it never fails to draw you in.

Lots of obvious similarities to the Matrix(which came out a year later) but I didn't know that the Matrix used several of the Dark City sets. Interesting.

I'm glad you mentioned Kieffer, I think he did a fantastic job with his role in the film. The real standout is Rufus Sewell though, he's perfect in the role of John Murdock but what else has he ever done that you can remember?

he was in the illusionist, which was a good movie, I had to check to make sure it was him, but I thought it was...

great movie...though i was a little disappointed in the ending. i think it's loosely based off of Metropolis.

clearly he's been in a lot of movies, several big budget ones. But outside of the illusionist none really come to mind without checking the IMDB. Interesting.

I think it's safer to say that the movie was heavily influenced by Metropolis, as well as several other films.

+1 on The Illusionist, good flick. Dark City was the bees knees though.

I remember Rufus as the evil jousting knight in A Knight's Tale.

I remember there was a hot chick in that movie, that's about it.

Fantastic film. So dark and dreary. When thinking about actually being there; it is so depressing that I would not want to know the truth. Just keep me in the haze....Truly superb film + I got a crush on Jennifer Connelly.

Have it on DVR. Gonna watch it tomorrow. Now I'm anxious to see it.
