instead of donating your money directly to the american heart association, why not spend your money at macy's on some chocolate or charms, and they will donate a small portion of there profits to the AHA.

it's a double edged sword. Companys like Macy's use this to increase sales, but at the same time the AHA uses Macy's to increase exposure. I would venture to guess that while both parties end up benefiting, the AHA probably benefits more. And if that is the case, im okay with it. I see no reason for macy's to profit on this, so long as the AHA doesn't suffer as a result. And if the net results with macy's is higher then the net result without Macy's the AHA has benefitted...
