Unlocking Car Doors with a Tennis Ball?

Anybody know if this would really work?

http://www.metacafe.com/watch/410981...e_unlocks_car/

Kind of scary if it would, just as the locking bumping is.

EDIT: If you try this, I'm not responsible for any resulting dents in your door.

There is no reason why that would work. Someone probably just unlocked it with the remote as she pushed down on the ball to make it look like she unlocked it.

Be careful not to dent your car when trying this. I doubt it will work though.

I agree. there's no way to put rotational force on the lock to hold the pins in place. (when picking this would be the torque wrench) Hell on my Civic the lock is recessed.

+1 on the girl though.

no possible way, the ball doesnt create a sealable seal to even remotly get the pressure needed to push the chambers of the lock up - bill nye says no

Just try it with a air hose in your hand. You can get a better seal with your hand and the hose will have more than a tennis ball.

I say it does not work.

+1. It's not just getting the pins to line up, its rotating the lock. The vid is total BS.

+2 for peeing in her butt. She kinda looks like Sarah Chalke from Scrubs.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

it depends on the locking system that your car uses. on the older bmw's that had vacuum systems on the locks, the tennis ball trick would work. it wont work with a conventional electric locking system.

That's what I have been finding. It is mainly older BMWs and old Fords that this would work on because of the pneumatic locking system.

Yea, and she probably used the tennis ball with a tiny hole in it to to do it. You can unlock a Mopar with a tiny hole and a little blow as well I guess.
