Bought a New Toy...

I bought a 1999 Ford SVT Lightning. I have always wanted one since they came out, and well.. the Harley is paid off now.. so why not?
The guy I bought it from is a real Ford freak, been working with Lightnings for a while now. It has only has 48,000 miles on the body with about 4000 miles on a build. Dyno sheets show it pushing close to 600 ponies.. Pretty impressive... I think. Has a Kenne Bell big bore Charger .. and alot of other stuff I dont know how to pronounce A few pics enclosed.

nice ride man....those things are a handfull...make sure that if the brakes have not been upgraded, then upgrade them...stock will only do so much,...and with that many horses under the hood, you want to make sure that you can stop as fast as you can go...but congrats man...i love those trucks...

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!

Somehting is wrong with that torque curve, it falls flat on it's face. HP has a nice steady climb to it though.

The graph is deceiving, it only runs from 3600 or so to 5200, torque and hp don't even cross. You're probably used to seeing the turbo graphs where torque is huge through the whole range, but hp shows later.

Those engines don't rev high, and the torque converter would just spike and screw the results at lower rpms...so the graph starts late and looks weird.

I know a lot of people that use them to haul racecars in enclosed trailers...so it has to be quite a bit.

my roommate has a 03 version, and he put stanard f150 wheels on it in the winter (daily driver) and we pulled a Jeep Cherokee with a open trailer the other day and it was STRUGGLING. The tow capacity is only like 5~6K pounds. They are not terrible for sport trucks, but honestly not nearly as good as the newer f150 or any other full size for that matter.
