stupid neighbor's dog need advice

So I live in a condo building downtown that it quiet and has good sound insulation. I have lived in the same unit for over two years and only heard my neighbors a couple time. I just got a new guy in next door around 25 years old and for some reason he has a little **** dog. Like a terrier. that thing won't shut up. I can hear it yapping through the walls all day long.

I didn't notice it until last Thursday so I'm hoping that he may be babysitting the dog. I complained politely to him once and going to give it another week, but what grounds for action do I have here? My condo building does allow dogs. Also there is a good chance he's just renting the unit.

I'm sure there is some recourse to take with the association. I would talk to the guy one more time and ask and then if still happens go to the association.

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin', and hook up with them later!!

First, talk to him about it in a nice neighborly way. Ask him if there is anything he can do about it. Do not confront in a hostile way.

Next, begin taking notes of all instances. Times, dates, durations. Include details of all communication with unit.

Re-read condo declaration, bylaws, and rules and regs. Know them better than the board (pretty easy to do).

If it keeps up, send a letter of concern to mgmt co and another to board via certified mail (include detailed notes of instances).

Attend next board meeting and voice concerns. Attend as may future meetings as possible voicing concerns.

If this fails run for the board and have it your way.

BTW, it doesn't matter (legally in IL) that they are renting. The unit occupants have the same rights as you with 2 exceptions, they can't vote and they can't sit on the board.

Buy some gun noise cancelling earphones and sleep well. I did this on fishing trips where one of my buddies snored like a growling African lion, it kept out all of the noise. Also works when the little miss is trying to nag the hell out of you.

Broccoli gives most dogs gas like you wouldn't believe!!! Buy a bunch and just start stuffing it under the door, he'll get rid of the dog. That or call the Dog Wisperer.

Really why do people buy condos? Wanna live in an apartment building, just rent. Or is it people are just to lazy to do their own yardwork?

Dude, that is making me crack up over here because my buddy lived in a apartment that the people above him always were arguing with each other and we recorded that shit with some high end audio gear we had. We played that shit back 10 times louder than the people were. We're pissing in our pants laughing... we even had the young kid calling his mom...yelling "MOM...MOOOOM" from outside and we'd play that back on occasion went the kid was in the alley and his mom would go and yell back to him "what do you want?" and we'd be die'n.

That really works!!

I talked to the owner about it. It's actually just a renter. and it's his girlfriends dog. But that thing is always there and tonight it hasn't shut up for the past half hour and I mean nonstop barking. I'm going to kill this little shit.
