I'm a dummy

In my brilliance I decided to wait for traffic to clear out before heading home. One small problem, I can't even get out of the parking lot. The wife with the SUV is currently AWOL playing tennis.

Well I've got cheese, crackers and a can o tuna in the kitchen. Plus, some Grey Goose in the freezer. Exciting night.

Thanks for the offer Tom.
I'm in Buffalo Grove and I carry a shovel in the trunk. I'm stuck good till the complex gets a plow in here.
I'm safe and warm in the office.
It is wayyy to far for you to go.
Right now a FX45 or 35 sound like a good trade for the Q45.

I'm Back. The car is still stuck in the snow.

The spousal unit surfaced after tennis and picked me up a little after 10.
Damn, her MDX is great in the snow. There was over 1' drifts by the entrance of the lot that she just cruised through. There is no way I would have ever hit the street. I had about 10" of snow in the drive that it just rolled through too.
What a pain.
I'm seriously looking at selling the Q45 and picking up another MDX. I've got my used car bro checking it out right now. He qouted me a rough $16K for my 02 Q45 premium (Seems like a steal, but I always get beat up on selling my cars) and thinks he can get a clean low miles 05 MDX for $26-28K. My wife's 01? MDX has crossed over 100k and I plan on offing it before next winter. Aside from having to put a new trans in and scheduled maintanance the MDX has been great and she has been after me for a new one. This gets me into an AWD replacement vehicle cheap, $12-14K. Then I can pick up a long term replacement for the Q some time next year and dump the MDX on her. As a plus, it doesn't kill the ZO6 budget.

Again, thanks for the offer of the ride!

Have you seen the new MDX? Those are ! As for getting stuck in the MDX, not once, evar, and it handles like a 2 door coupe.

Yes, I've already priced one out. They are awesome. Plus it is a Honda. Touring package with Nav and tow msrp $45k. My wife just loves her old MDX and the 2007 just gets better.

Ram 1500 for the win. Last night I drove through 2' + snow drifts by the lake... took it like a champ. Even did a J turn in front of a cop on sheridan and he laughed and shook his head

I never really figured it out, but with my wife primarily driving it she gets about 250-275 miles to a tank.

Snow tires. Makes driving yesterdays conditions somewhat possible.

Although I wasn't out yesterday, I drive a camaro, and with snow tires, that's about the only way that car is able to go anywhere this time of year.

Getting them was a good investment over spending $$ on plates and insurance for an old winter beater car.

the new mdx is really nice. I'm not a fan of the console area in front, controls and nav screen, but the rest of the vehicle makes up for it. really nice.

i'm loving my jeep in this shit, nothing stops my cherokee.

+1

I drove to work on purpose yesterday and today because it was so much fun (I could've worked from home or taken a train). I drive G35 coupe and with snow tires it goes just fine, except for deep snow. If it's deep, I disable the DSC and burn the snow until it grabs the pavement.

I was regretting making my almost-pristine 95 Eclipse GSX a daily driver, but the AWD plus snow tires is nice. My 120 mile daily commute isn't nice in any vehicle, however.

Reality hit me when I saw how much I'd get for the Q45. I stopped at Cost Co and ordered 4 Michelin Alpine's for a grand. Since my old tires are from Cost Co they will flop them out on demand for $5 each when the season changes. Add 200 pounds of salt in the trunk and I'll be good enough for the winter and don't need to mess with the Vette fund.
