...In three years, Cyberdyne will become the largest supplier of military computer systems. All stealth bombers are upgraded with Cyberdyne computers, becoming fully unmanned. Afterwards, they fly with a perfect operational record. The Skynet funding bill is passed. The system goes on-line on August 4th, 1997. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Skynet begins to learn, at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 am, eastern time, August 29th.
lol Slashdot ran a story last week about it. Skynet has been around since 1969 beofre the Terminator movies. Remember this is Skynet 5. 1 was introduced around 1969. There is no AI included in Skynet 5. Nothing is gonna happen. You need some kind of AI for something to go wrong.
I agree that it is dangerous to make computers too smart. I know that I Robot, Matrix, and Terminator are Sci Fi, but that stuff can happen if we aren't careful. The only AI I want is a simple system to yell out the song I want my IPOD to play while riding, and maybe giving a voice command to my computer to turn on and go to certain websites, that's about it :laughing

Just remember, personal computers were sci-fi back in the 60's. Now many people have more than 1 in the house.
