So, NASCAR makes a whole lot more sense to me now. I found out today that NASCAR/Stock car racing has its roots in prohibition and the running of moonshine. Back then, you needed a fast car to out run the government tax men/law enforcement. You also needed a car that looked normal with hundreds of pounds of moonshine in the back as to not attract attention from enforcement. Engine and suspension modifications became a staple of the moonshine runners. So was born a new kind of race challenge to be the best driver.
OMG, there are other forms of racing than AMA. The Car of Tomorrow looks strange. The top car is a modern car, the bottom is the car of tomorrow.

Yeah ... but I'm pretty sure the same idiots today would think, "Okay let's go drive our cars around in an oval 500 times and whoever does it fastest wins. People will probably watch this for hours on end, even though it pretty much looks the same every time ... not because they want to, but because they're sunburned and wasted!"
That's just Nascar fans trying to make the "sport" seem cooler than it actually is. Which it isn't.
I'm just gonna keep my mouth shut, cause I'm sure VCook is just waiting for me to go off.:twofinger
Yes I am a HUGE NASCAR fan, and I'll say this. If you have a specific team that you like it make the experience alot more competitive and enjoyable.
And WSE just another piece of knowledge for ya, they used to race the Daytona 500 1/2 on street and 1/2 on the beach!
