Absofreakinlutely. Any Tool album is fine by me. Or, has anyone said Floyd yet? It's been said that Radiohead is the modern successor to Floyd, but I'm not buying it. For me, Tool most accurately taps into the the subconscious of the modern pathos:
Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will.
I sure could use a vacation from this
bull-shit three ring cirrrrcus siiiideshow of
Freaks here in this, hopeless fucking, hole we call (fill in your present location here)
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time.
Any fucking day.
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay.
Fret for your figure and
Fret for your latte and
Fret for your lawsuit and
Fret for your hairpiece and
Fret for your prozac and
Fret for your pilot and
Fret for your contract and
Fret for your car.
It's a bull-shit three ring cirrrrrcuus siiideshow of
freaks here in this hopeless fucking hole we call (again, present location here)
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time.
Any fucking day.
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay.
Some say a comet will fall from the sky.
Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by faultlines that cannot sit still.
Followed by millions of dumbfounded dipshits.
Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will
I sure could use a vacation from this
stupid shit, silly shit, stupid shit...
VH - 5150 is friggin awesome.
GnR - Appetite is great as well.
ACDC - Back in Black
Metallica - Black. Many of these songs were huge for me back in the day.
Def Lep - Hysteria was a huge deal for me when I was way younger.
This will show my age I guess but CCR's Greatest Hits would be my choice if I could only have one album.....I mean CD. Lynyrd Skynyrd would be a close second. Maybe even Hank Jr though he's not considered a rock and roll artist. And Meat Loaf's Bat Out Of Hell would do nicely too.
Blur: Parklife
Smashing Pumpkins: Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness
Pink Floyd: Meddle
Iron Maiden: Live After Death
Metallica: ... And Justice For All
New Edition: Heartbreak
lol, two of them are double albums but one of them only has 6 songs. My moods vary from day to day. Can't we just make an mp3 disc and label it for "deserted on desert island" duty?
At least I don't have any Tool albums. meh :laughing :flip
I only chose MCIS because the double album-ness. Bang for the buck. AJFA was Metallica's last good album and has plenty of good, long songs. Dyer's Eve rocks.
Metallitica: ..and justice for all
Beatles: white album
Tool: Lateralus
Allmans: Eat a peach
Nirvana: Nevermind
NIN: Downward sprial / pretty hate machine (tie)
