There was this little deli by the Armory when I was with the 178inf that made fantastic ones. Sunday morning one of those and some good Cuban coffee made for a righteous day
btw incase someone says "i forgot the name of it" in chicago near Chicago cycle center, that place blows, the only FRESH thing they cool while you wait is platanos, everything else tasted like it was prepared earlier.
Milwaukee ave. about a block east of California on the south side of the street. It's this little shack looking place, but it's delicious. just don't wear one of those Guevara shirts in there.
Yeah, those two joints suck ass. Little Havana on Fullerton west of Kedzie on the North side of the street is better. There is also a little place near Logan Square, on Milwaukee south of Diversey. It's a dive coffee shop but damn are the sammies there good! Get some Cuban coffee while you're at it.
Cafe LaGuardia on North & Oak Park Ave's in chicago, plus they have a great Jibarito...Ummmmmmmmmmmmm. Small place but good food and Lobster Bisque everyday.
there's a cafe laguardia on armitage, west of damen is another restaurant that is cuban based. Not so much sandwiches though. for that try Habana Libre on Chicago Avenue, just east of Ashland. Their fried steak lunches are the bomb!
LaGuardia is too americanized. It caters to those rich Oak Parkers. I think he wants a real "Media Noche" sandwich. If you didn't know, that's what they're called.
I say get a recipe, go to the store and get the ingredients, and make some yourself. Its whjat, a spicy pulled pork sandwich? The passtry may be a little difficult though, I don't do pastry :lmao:
