That's weird, I was riding in that area earlier in the day. There's always a ton of bikes riding up and down Rt 20 near the Elgin, Hampshire area. Most of the riders I saw yesterday weren't wearing helmets which surprised me. Hope they are all ok.
Shit! This is the first time I've read this article. I'm from the Hampshire/Elgin area, and I went to high school with a couple of their older siblings.
Yes that is my friend. no he wasnt wearing a helmet, still in critical condition. The sorry I was told by the one rider that didnt go to the hospital, thank god he was wearing a helmet, was that they came into the corner too hot. Lloyd was the backmarker so they arent totally sure what happened to him. Im going to update my original post to explain his condition.
Yeah btw, David Ross was the one wearing a helmet, he had a scraped up arm but other wise ok.
Russ Broughton, no helmet had a concussion went to the hospital and was ok.
Both of which came and saw lloyd while I was there today.
ah crap man...i saw the post on myspace 1st and then now on here...sorry to hear this...hopefully he pulls through...let me know if ya need any help or anything josh...
Gengler said inexperienced motorcycle riders and veteran riders who haven’t been on their bikes for months contribute to a higher rate of motorcycle accidents in the spring.
“It’s nothing out of the ordinary for us to see a spike in motorcycle accidents this time of year,” Gengler said, adding: “They look like a lot of fun, but they’re also very dangerous.”
Always sad to hear about stuff like that especially this time of year. Hope they get better and learn a good lesson.
Wish this stuff happened less, I was just visiting some old friends in Dallas and one of them had a friend who just got his first bike, a 2006 GSXR600, and wrecked it within 4 days so bad the frame split in half. Guy wasn't wearing a helmet, and is in the hospital now and can barely move his right arm. No word yet on how much damage his brain suffered, and he doesn't remember anything.
