they have one in the sears tower now? I know the moved somewhere around 500 w monroe, they did that before they closed the original and I heard its just as good.
I have the news on in my office and I can see my building from the news choppers. Also, I'm looking out my window and I can see the building on fire and all of the choppers hovering around. The streets down here are blocked off, too. What a PITA. I hope they open up soon because Chills wants to go to lunch.
At least no one has gotten hurt... and it's not my building in the news this time.
Watching this outside my office window...doesn't look like a big deal, they are not even evacuating the building. It's a cooling tower on fire on the top floor (500 W. Monroe).
...there are quite a few people gathered around downstairs on the street, taking pictures with their camera phones and acting as if it was some major event.....one woman in my office even said "oh my, I want to go home and be with my kids" :lmao:
Venice Cafe opened up in 500 W. monroe sometime in 2006 and the food there rocks at lunchtime. I don't work at 525 W Monroe anymore, so thanks for the onsite assessments of the situation guys.
Yes, the food there (Venice Cafe) is pretty darn good, but the fact that when you buy the soup/sandwich combo they refuse to give you crackers with the soup really annoys me!...I say LET IT BURN!!!!.....hahahaha.....oh wait, looks like the smoke is out, I think they've got this one under control
eh, cant really see it from here but luckily its not shutting down the trains like that dumb bomb threat did. Only thing we get to cross us here (175 jackson) are the immigrant marches lol
hey rdrash, i hit the venice in the sears tower today. tasted the same to me. I miss the old contains though, these new plastic ones make me feel like I'm eating sbarro shit or something.
I'm not sure how much room there is to sit in there. We might want to wait till we can do it outside. There is no fast lunch place around here that can hold more than 2-3 guys during peak hours.
Cool. Tuesday 12:30 at the food court in the Citibank Building. We'll meet up in front of the bookstore on the right side. I'll post a thread reminding everyone on Monday.
They have a good Gyro place in the back, and Corner Bakery on the 2nd floor. The options aren't the greatest, but there are plenty of places to sit inside, which is why I suggested it.
crashomon, yep, that's where I am. 9th floor and I face Madison street.
Once it warms up more we'll move back to our Chipotle location with the nice views.
From the earlier posts here, it looks like Chillls is working in the Citibank building is where the Olgilvie train station is.
On Canal, between Washington and Madison. (500 West Madison) A big building with blue glass, its where all the north side metra trains go out of.
They have Mcdonalds, burrito beach, subway and other crap in the food court, and corner bakery one floor up.
