People are moving out of my building and they are pulling a u-haul trailer that I looked up on Uhaul's site and it weighs 1800 pounds empty. They are pulling it with a Jeer Wrangler and it tows only 2000 pounds. I told them that they will be over the limit and they one guy pulled his badge out and said it will be ok and it's not against the law to be over the tow rating. I just hope the Jeep breaks down before someone gets hurt or killed.
PS everyone stay away from Wheaton for the rest of the day.

Jimmy are you seriously going around inspecting strangers tow ratings? I'm calling your boss and making sure you have enough QC's to do :laughing

I've been off for 2 weeks:twofinger

It just pisses me off people put money before lives like this. They think Jeep put a tow rating on there because the people at Jeep have nothing better to do.

This might be a little different but I know someone who rented a uhual truck and load it up nice and full. He got pulled over in Wheeling by cops who had a mobile weight station. They weighed the truck and he was just over 500 pounds over the limit stated on the truck. I believe he got a $250 fine.

Thats total bullshit. It IS illegal to drive on the roads with more than your vehicles GVWR and you should find out which dept that asshat works for and let his boss know hes involved with illegal activities that could end up injuring or killing someone.

BTW its ironic that Uhaul rented a trailer of that size to someone using a WRANGLER but yet refuse to with Explorer owners which vehicle CAN haul 5000lbs legally.

:laughing reminds me of my Dad and his late 80's Mercury Linx (same as ford escort). He was a contractor and loaded all of his materials in that thing. He had a roof rack and would load sheets of plywood and drywall when needed. The topper was the wheel barrel that was like the cherry on the sunday. We always joked if it broke down he could just flip it over and wheel it home :laughing
