google or go visit road and track or car and driver.

Car: 6 seconds is awesome. 10 is typical of most sedans
Bike: 3-5 seconds is typical for sport bikes. especially for blue and white gixxers
<-- note blue and white icon...

See this for authority: http://www.sportrider.com/bikes/146_...ormance_times/

Slow is 12 seconds or more for car, 6 or more seconds for bike.

As for 1/4 mile times, see that chart above. I don't have links to 1/4 mile times for cars.

Yup, sub 10sec quarter miles in a car is great and you will need a full cage and helmet to run on the track. Under 13 sec in a car is nice and quick. 1000cc Sportbikes are in the 10 second quarter mile range. If you are doing sub 10second quarter miles you are flyin. Probably doing over 130mph at the end of that run.

If 6 seconds is awesome, then what is 2.3 seconds? A lot of the cars I am familliar with are around 3-4 seconds 0-60 ...and the cobra is 0-100-0 in less than 13 seconds

6 seconds is awesome for a typical car here in the US.

Performance vehicles will always have "awesome" 0-60 times, but since she wasn't asking that, I was giving her a baseline.

Use this list for your comparo of 0-60 AND 1/4 mile times for a bunch of different cars:
http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html

Note that my Jetta is listed ata 7.8 seconds in the 0-60., Now, If I could get it to 6 seconds that would be AWESOME!

For those of you who think you're driving something slow, I offer this from the link above:

1968 Fiat 850 Idromatic 25.5 23.3
1973 Volkswagon Super Beetle Convertible 23.8 22.5

0-60 times LONGER than 1/4 mile times! Not even doing 60 going through the traps

So who's got one of these fine rides?

Schweeet! I wonder what mine would do if I lowered it, stretched it 15", put NOS and a turbo on it, and a dead man's rope.

Kidding, I'll run it but I am not doing all that.
