One Busy Week

Well, I think I broke a personal record for business transacted in a week, last week.

Wednesday, I closed on my new house in Humboldt Park, a nice old flat-roof job near Pulaski and Division with two bedrooms upstairs, two down, a deck and a drive-through (and DRY) garage. Friday, I closed on the old family house in Elgin, selling it to my brother and finally getting back some of the money I'd put into it for the last seven years. Saturday, I bought a new truck, and have a four-wheeled vehicle of my own for the first time in five years.

Man, it's been a busy week.

Life's Journey Is Not To Arrive At The Grave Safely In A Well Preserved Body, But Rather To Skid In Sideways, Totally Worn Out, Shouting "HOLY SHIT... What A Ride!"

All you have to do is follow three simple rules. One, never under estimate your opponent (mentality). Expect the unexpected (could work out in your favor). Two, take it outside(or to a table). Never start anything inside the Bar unless it's absolutely necessary. And three, be nice.

Congratulations, Andrew. What kind of truck?

BTW, backpacking in May.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

OK, I take it back: SECOND busiest week. (Never really sank in how much you've got to do in order to move house--and don't ask about what it took to get the phone/DSL turned on, but this is my first night with solid internet service, anyway.)

Relaxation beginning tonight, I think. Beers began last week, helped out by a need to finish off some of my trackday supply. Bacardi may take over tonight.

Pics will come up once I get the camera unpacked and working. Party will come sometime after, like once it's warmed up a little more and there are a few less boxes sitting around. Stay tuned.

The truck's an F-150, 2WD, regular cab with the 8' bed--pretty basic working truck. Already put a trailer hitch on there and it's already doing a fine job hauling the trackday trailer (all 800 pounds of it) around.

Chills, PM coming shortly--and don't wink like that, people will talk.
