Anything. Seriously I just need money. Doesn't matter where it comes from.

However, good idea. I will grab some applications from there tonight.

I am also looking and have the exact same time restrictions as you. I was working for Autozone and called them up, they are willing to re hire me, but at a location even further away than where I was originally.

People take these things too seriously!

just go to the mall, hit every store you like to shop in and ask for an application. and the best part of working in a mall, especially at those hours is instead of looking at people like me (the kind of people that spend there tuesday nights at home depot) you get to look at the people that tend to hang out at malls on a tuesday evening, and throughout most of the summer. And let me tell you, so long as you look but touch only after seeing valid proof of age, you will enjoy the scenery far better at the mall...

FedEx Ground in Carol Stream, I used to do all the hiring but getting hired is not a problem. M-F you would probably start at 1930 till about 2300.

I did the mall thing during the evening after my day job a few years ago when I was really strapped for cash, and most retail shops need you to start by at least 5.

A woman here is doing the 2nd job thing in order to get a motorcycle. She is working at a gas station, and I highly recommend that because unlike the mall, they're usually open 24 hours so they won't mind a 6 pm start to fill out a shift. It's also busier than the mall (usually) so the time goes by faster (and you can drink coffee -- and boy you'll need it working 2 jobs, as I remember all too well!).

Oh -- another thing that guys here at work have done is delivering pizzas. A 6 PM start is no problem because that's when people are ordering dinner. You can make decent money with tips.

This may be true but would you rather have the scenary or the cash in your hands? I was making $12 an hour at Home Depot, not sure if you can make that in the mall (this was 3 years ago). The other suggestion would be to get a job somewhere with a discount that you "normally" spend money. That way you can benefit from that. Just don't get a job at a place where if the right deal comes up you end up buying stuff. Defeats the purpose of a second job.

dude, retail jobs suck ass. with those times, you are in prime money making time for a restuarant/bar. you can make some pretty good money serving, and it's cash that you take home that night.

Yeah, these days, the mall pays minimum wage.

I did the pizza delivery thing when I was in the Army to save up extra cash to buy my 9R. It was not bad but most of the people down where I was stationed didn't tip worth sh*t.

Now I have a second job at a rock climbing facility, which follows Jibit's advice of getting a job where you can get a discount where you normally spend money.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Maybe this could qualify for that whole 'get a job that gives a discount where you would normally be spending money' ?

Thanks for the kind words.

I made so much I was able to buy a sports car and retire. Who would have thought Plainfield housewives had so much money to spend.
