Title Q

I have this car i bought in 1995, from a shadeball dealer and finance co, being as I was a dumb 21 year old with no credit, that had to have a Mustang GT..

Welp, I paid the car off, but the finance company had changed hands a couple times. I think like 3 times, but the original one, either went out of business or was bought up by another one. Well.. after the car was paid off for a couple years, i started wondering where the hell my title was. So I called the people I paid the loan off with, and they gave me a release of lien letter, which I mailed off along with my corrected title form and check. I got the app back, along with my check, and the State says that the original finance co is the lien holder, and I would need a release of lien letter from them ,and not the people i paid the car off with... what do i do now, to get my title??!

Oh my...

Sounds like you have a long road ahead of you. first things first get all your paperwork together. then call the people you "paid off" and ask for the paperwork showing that they paid off the debt from the previous lein holder. then when/if they produce that, go to the old finance company and produce that along with the pay off letter.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

the current finance comapny that bought the debt and supplied the payoff letter will most likly have to provide a form saying that they are the lein holder.
